May 20, 2024: GWM ORA UK has proudly announced the launch of a significant software update for the ORA 03, introducing wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This update is available free of charge to both current and future customers, ensuring that all variants of the ORA 03 (formerly known as ORA Funky Cat) can benefit from this enhancement. Customers are encouraged to contact their local retailers to schedule an appointment for the update, which will be provided through the brand’s extensive network of over 30 sites across the UK.
Upon embarking on their first journey in the updated ORA 03, Apple and Android users will be greeted by a prompt on the 10.25-inch integrated infotainment screen, inviting them to connect and activate Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. This update allows users to enjoy the full suite of features offered by these systems, including traffic-optimized navigation, music streaming, call and message access, voice assistance, and third-party apps.
The update has been meticulously designed and extensively tested to ensure seamless integration with the ORA 03’s dual 10.25-inch split screens. Navigation will be displayed on both the driver display screen and the main infotainment screen. Customers will also retain access to GWM ORA’s unique features, such as the ‘Hello ORA’ voice assistant, which can control vehicle functions like climate control, window operation, ChargePoint location, and radio.
Looking ahead, GWM ORA is planning to introduce over-the-air updates (OTA), providing customers with even greater flexibility in installing new software versions in the future.
GWM ORA currently offers two model variants of the ORA 03 in the UK: the PURE+ and the PRO+. The PURE+ variant comes with a high level of standard features, including a 48kWh battery with a 193-mile WLTP range, wireless phone charging, facial recognition, electric front seats, app integration, and the ‘Hello ORA’ intelligent voice assistant. The PRO+ variant includes an upgraded 63kWh battery with a 260-mile WLTP range and additional premium features such as heated, cooled, and massage front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, a powered gesture tailgate, rear privacy glass, and advanced automatic parking assistance.
With this latest software update, GWM ORA continues to enhance the driving experience, ensuring that the ORA 03 remains at the forefront of automotive innovation and customer satisfaction.
