Aspiring young automotive journalists have just days left to submit their entries for the prestigious Guild of Motoring Writers Toyota Young Journalist of the Year Award. Open to all journalists under 30, whether Guild members or not, this accolade offers a unique opportunity to gain recognition in the competitive world of automotive journalism.

The Award, generously sponsored by Toyota UK, will be presented at the Guild’s annual black-tie Dinner, held at the iconic RAC Club in Pall Mall, London, on Thursday 7th December. It will be awarded alongside the GOMW/MICA Young PR Professional of the Year Award, sponsored by Meridian Audio, making it a night to celebrate young talent within the motoring media industry.

Entries for the Young Journalist of the Year Award will be judged on the quality of their research and the craftsmanship of their writing. The Guild has a history of honouring exceptional young talent, with previous winners going on to make significant contributions to the automotive media landscape. Among them is Richard Aucock, who won the inaugural award and has since become a director of Motoring Research, a highly respected automotive agency. Last year’s winner, Yousuf Ashraf from Evo magazine, wowed the judges with his ability to immerse readers in his experiences, delivering powerful and riveting features at just 23 years old.
