Alpine Unveils Its Legacy and Electrifying Future at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024
Alpine is set to make a grand statement at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024, showcasing an impressive array of vehicles that highlight the brand’s illustrious history, present innovations, and future aspirations. The event will feature the UK dynamic debut of the Alpine A290, the brand’s pioneering electric sports car.
Fresh from its world premiere at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 220 bhp, fully electric A290 will demonstrate its performance prowess on Goodwood’s renowned 1.16-mile hill climb as part of the ‘First Glance’ display. This marks a significant step in Alpine’s electrification journey, offering visitors a glimpse into the future of the brand’s road cars.
Alpine’s display will also celebrate its rich motorsport heritage and cutting-edge innovation. The Manufacturer Grid will feature the 500 bhp A110 Pikes Peak car, renowned for its aero-optimized design, and the futuristic Alpenglow concept, which combines a lightweight carbon body with high-performance hydrogen power. Alongside these marvels, the legendary 1975 A110 Group 4 Tour de Corse rally car will also be part of the ‘First Glance’ exhibit.
The motorsport theme continues with the BWT Alpine F1 Team showcar, the historic twin-turbocharged V6 RS10 F1 car from the 1970s, and the radical V6-powered A442B endurance racer. These iconic vehicles will be driven by Alpine’s Academy drivers: Jack Doohan, the current Alpine F1 reserve driver, F2 racer Kush Maini, and F3 racer Sophia Floersch.

Visitors will also have the chance to test their driving skills on the Alpine simulator, with the fastest participant winning an Alpine experience at Thruxton. For enthusiasts, Alpine merchandise will be available for purchase.
Adding to the excitement, the limited edition A110 R Le Mans, with only 100 examples, will also be featured in the ‘First Glance’ display. The rest of the A110 range, including the A110 S, A110 GT, A110 R, and A110 Enstone, will participate in the manufacturer parade.
Alpine will also introduce the forthcoming Atelier Alpine programme, designed to make the A110 even more exclusive. This personalization program offers customers the choice of 26 new body colors inspired by Alpine’s history, along with a range of exclusive finishes for alloy wheels and brake callipers.
Nic Burnside, Managing Director of Alpine Cars UK, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “Alpine always brings excitement to Goodwood, but this year will be particularly memorable. Alongside our astounding competition cars, we will dynamically showcase how the brand is set to become more accessible and versatile than ever. The pure electric Alpine A290 appeals to a much broader audience and demonstrates an exhilarating new direction for Alpine production models.”
The Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024 promises to be an unforgettable experience for Alpine enthusiasts, as the brand proudly presents its journey from its storied past to an electrifying future.
