Geely South Africa has entered into a strategic partnership with the Chongqing Sokon Motor Group in China to import and distribute a range of light commercial vehicles under the DFSK brand name. The new vehicles are available through Geely’s dealerships nationwide immediately.

All five vehicles come with a comprehensive range of standard equipment, with additional equipment available as optional extras. This approach helps to keep the base cost down, ensuring that the DFSK range remains attractive even to budget-conscious buyers.

Cloth seats are standard across the range as are FM/AM Radios. Steel wheels of 13 inches are also standard, together with front and rear fog lights and high-mounted stop lights in the Panel Van and Mini Bus derivatives.

MINI TRUCK SINGLE CAB

With a price of R49,990 EXCL VAT the entry-level Mini Truck Single Cab offers exceptional value for buyers seeking a cost-effective load carrier. Powered by a 1,012 cc four-cylinder petrol engine, the 1.0 model offers excellent fuel consumption and good performance for an engine of this size. Thanks to electronic fuel injection, which is standard across the range, the 1l engine generates 35 kW of power at 5,200 rpm; and a steady 76 Nm of torque, available from 3,600 rpm.

The 1.3 version of the Mini Truck Single Cab is powered by a similar four-cylinder, fuel injected engine. Thanks to its larger capacity, however, this engine is good for 58 kW of power at 6,000 rpm; and 103 Nm of torque, available from 2,800 rpm to 5,000 rpm. The wide torque band ensures smooth and consistent pulling power, without causing an undue increase in fuel consumption.

Load capacity for all vehicles in the range is 500 kg, and the single cab sports a load box measuring 2,300 mm by 1,500 mm; with a depth of 335 mm.

MINI TRUCK DOUBLE CAB

In addition to the Mini Truck Single Cab, the new DFSK range also includes a Mini Truck Double Cab, which offers the perfect combination of load carrying capability, combined with people carrying capability at a highly competitive price.

The double cab derivative is only available with the 1.3 litre petrol engine, identical to that used in the single cab, panel van and mini bus versions. Comfortable seating for four passengers is provided, each with a three point seat belt.

Cargo space on the back of the double cab measures 1,390 mm by 1,400 mm; with a depth of 335 mm. Both Mini Truck variants come standard with drop-sides for the load area, as well as protective bars across the rear window.

PANEL VAN AND MINI BUS

Enclosed cargo carrying is provided in the form of the Panel Van model, which offers seating for two, together with an enclosed loading space measuring 2,000 mm x 1,320 mm x 1,320 mm. The rear hatch opens exceptionally wide to allow large items to be loaded, in addition to the single sliding door, on the left-hand side of the vehicle.

People carrying capability is the main purpose of the Mini Bus version, which offers seating for up to six adults, each with an individual three-point seat belt.

Both the Panel Van and Mini Bus are propelled by the same 1.3 litre, four-cylinder engine as found in the rest of the DFSK range. In all derivatives, this engine drives the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.

All models come with discs for the front wheels, and traditional drum brakes for the rear. Suspension consists of McPherson Struts with coil springs and dampers in the front; and independent plate springs with dampers in the rear.

Geely SA has opted to import only white body-coloured vehicles at this time.
