Kempton Park new and used car dealer Gindra is giving back to the community for a different cause – animals that can’t care for themselves.
Donating R1 000 in cash for every new Geely or DFSK vehicle sold until the end of October, Gindra Motors in Kempton Park have also gone the proverbial extra mile by hosting a pet food campaign at their local mall.
“We are displaying a DFSK bakkie at the Festive Mall in CR Swart Road where people can donate bags of dog and cat food,” says Gindra owner Gina Giani.
Animal lover Gina says although she cares for a puppy and two cats herself, she feels the community should do more.
“We will be donating R1 000 for every new Geely passenger vehicle and every new DFSK light commercial vehicle sold from now until the end of October,” says Gina. “We have already collected the donations for quite a few vehicles sold so far, but will continue doing so until the end of next month.”
The money and the pet food collected at the DFSK display at the Festival Mall shopping centre will be handed over to the Kempton Park SPCA at the end of the campaign.
“Donating food is surely going to benefit the animals directly and not disappear into the system,” says Gina. “The money will be used for desperately urgent maintenance work as well as treatment of and medication for neglected, sick and injured animals.”
Melissa Bailey of the Kempton Park SPCA says every donation of every kind is welcomed with open arms.
“Our biggest need is veterinary bills, but also for maintenance and food for the animals. We also need donations of building material for maintenance of the kennels, blankets and anything else we might be able to use. Please call us on 011 975 6537 to find out how you can help.”
