MOKE International (MOKE) has announced the appointment of Nick English, co-founder of Bremont Watches, as its new Executive Chairman, effective immediately. This strategic move marks a significant milestone for the iconic MOKE brand, renowned since 1964 for blending heritage with innovation. With plans for expansive growth underway, English assumes leadership during a crucial phase as MOKE advances with strategic partners and investors to propel its international footprint.
Nick English, recognized for his role in establishing Bremont Watches as a symbol of British craftsmanship, brings extensive experience in manufacturing and luxury brands to MOKE. Continuing his directorship at Bremont, English led the company through substantial growth, culminating in a valuation of £100 million during a strategic investment round. His appointment underscores MOKE’s commitment to enhancing its legacy and expanding its unique vehicle offerings globally.
Commenting on his new role, Nick English, Executive Chairman of MOKE International, expressed enthusiasm: “Joining MOKE International at this pivotal juncture is incredibly exciting. The MOKE brand holds a distinctive position in automotive history, and I am eager to collaborate with the talented team to build upon its legacy, expand UK manufacturing, and explore new avenues for innovation and growth. I am particularly impressed with Isobel’s work in homologating the Electric MOKE for both the USA and EU, and I look forward to advancing on that foundation.”

As part of this leadership transition, Isobel Dando, who served as CEO for the past four years, will step down. MOKE International acknowledges Dando’s contributions in revitalizing the brand and expresses gratitude for her tenure. Dando remarked, “Nick’s appointment marks a significant milestone for MOKE. I am confident in handing over the reins to him to build upon our achievements. His passion for British engineering and entrepreneurial spirit make him ideally suited to lead MOKE through its next phase.”
MOKE has secured $35 million in investments to date, facilitating the relocation of production to the UK, trademark protection, and the homologation of the Electric MOKE for both European and American markets. The Electric MOKE, distinguished as the first roofless and doorless vehicle to achieve M1 Small Series approval in Europe, and the first of its kind approved by NHTSA and EPA under the Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturers Act, is predominantly crafted from European components and manufactured in the UK.
While MOKE attracted interest from EV Technology Group in a 2022 acquisition bid valuing the company at up to $120 million, the brand opted to remain independent, with a proposed merger with Fablink ultimately not materializing. With a waiting list exceeding 800 orders totaling over $25 million, MOKE International and its board are optimistic about scaling production and enhancing vertical integration within the UK.
