Maserati Unveils MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda Special Series at Goodwood Festival of Speed
Modena, 8 July 2024 – From 11 to 14 July, Maserati will grace the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed with a remarkable homage to their ultimate super sports car: the groundbreaking MC20.
First introduced in 2020, the MC20, distinguished by its innovative V6 Nettuno engine, has firmly established itself as a leader in both its coupé and convertible forms. Renowned for its distinctive style, the MC20 consistently captivates audiences at premier motorsport events worldwide.
Goodwood Festival of Speed, held annually in West Sussex, southern England, is one such event. It attracts legendary drivers, teams, and modern motorsport icons, alongside the most coveted vehicles on two and four wheels from both past and present.
This year, Maserati will debut two special MC20 series: the MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda. Each series is limited to 20 units, commemorating a significant milestone for Maserati—a brand celebrated for its storied success in FIA GT competitions. These special editions honor the victorious MC12 and mark twenty years since Maserati’s triumphant return to racing in 2004 after a 37-year hiatus.

The MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda feature bespoke liveries inspired by the MC12 Stradale and MC12 GT1 Vitaphone, respectively. These liveries, part of Maserati’s Fuoriserie personalization program, offer refined and exclusive exterior and interior designs that will be on full display for the public to admire.
Joining these special editions in the Supercar Paddock—dedicated to high-performance vehicles—will be another legendary Maserati creation: the MC12 Versione Corse. Developed in 2006 for exclusive track use, this model, limited to 12 customer units and one prototype, boasts an extraordinary 755-hp V12 engine, embodying Maserati’s rich motorsport heritage.
Adding to Maserati’s impressive lineup at Goodwood is the MC20 Cielo in Blu Victory. This stunning spyder, with its retractable glass roof, features a unique metallic paint that echoes the shade of the MC12 from two decades ago. The white Trident painted on the tonneau cover accentuates its striking appearance.
During the festival, the MC20 Icona, MC20 Leggenda, and MC20 Cielo will showcase their incredible power and allure in the iconic Hillclimb event. This 1.16-mile ascent is a highlight of the festival, offering a spectacular stage for Maserati’s extraordinary creations.
Complementing Maserati’s presence at Goodwood is the introduction of the GranCabrio Folgore, the first 100% electric luxury convertible. This sleek, sporty four-seater, ideal for long journeys, will turn heads along Goodwood’s Electric Avenue. Powered by cutting-edge 800V technology, the GranCabrio Folgore delivers exceptional performance and boasts innovative technical specifications, setting a new standard in the luxury convertible segment.
With a captivating blend of historical tribute and forward-looking innovation, Maserati’s display at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed promises to be an unforgettable celebration of their illustrious automotive legacy.
