London, 22 January 2026 – In the world of automotive enthusiasts, sometimes it’s not the car itself, but the parts that can spark the biggest excitement—and the biggest spending. eBay UK has revealed its list of the most expensive vehicle parts and accessories sold in 2025, showcasing a year dominated by high-performance engines, iconic vintage bodywork, and specialist equipment for motoring aficionados.
At the very top of the list was a rare original aluminium bonnet from the Jaguar E-Type, purchased for £18,564. The E-Type, often described as one of the most beautiful cars ever made, has once again proven its enduring appeal among collectors and restorers. This sale surpassed the previous year’s top part, a 5.2-litre V10 Audi R8 engine, which sold for £16,567 in 2024.
Close behind the E-Type bonnet was another piece of coveted bodywork: a complete front end for a Ford Transit Custom, selling for £17,180. Completing the podium was a BMW M5 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine, which changed hands for £17,048.
While bodywork captured the imagination, performance engines dominated the remainder of the top 10. From a 5.7-litre V12 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti engine (£14,851) to a remanufactured Toyota Landcruiser Amazon 4.5-litre diesel engine (£13,112), and a Porsche 911 Targa 4S 3.0-litre power unit (£12,995), the list showcased an eclectic array of powertrains. A 4.4-litre Range Rover Vogue engine (£12,487) and two 4.0-litre Audi RS6 engines (£12,483 and £12,407) further reinforced the appetite for high-end, performance-driven components.
Not all the high-value sales were engines. Audi RSQ8 enthusiasts paid £13,592 for a full set of ceramic disc brakes and calipers, demonstrating that even stopping power can come with a premium. Beyond the top 10, additional engines from Mercedes-Benz AMG GT (£12,376) and Bentley (£11,757) commanded serious sums, alongside a Snap-On tool station which astonishingly sold for more than a Bentley engine, highlighting the value placed on professional-grade workshop equipment.
Abir Tewari, UK Director of Commercial Operations Parts & Accessories at eBay, commented: “Last year demonstrated the unique, eclectic and interesting vehicle parts and accessories available on eBay. While premium powertrains remained in high-demand, vintage bodywork for a Jaguar E-Type—a motoring icon—claimed the top spot. The top 10 products continue to show that eBay is a one-stop-shop for all UK motorists, from DIY essentials like windscreen wipers and floor mats to complete powertrains and bodywork for some of the most iconic cars on the road.”
