On April 20, the 16th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (also known as ‘Auto Shanghai 2015’) was held in Shanghai, China. As one of the world’s most important international auto shows, the 16th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition attracted nearly 2,000 domestic and foreign well-known enterprises from 18 countries and regions.
Foton released both the new full-size TOANO van and SAUVANA, Foton’s first-ever SUV.
TOANO, fused with German technologies
“TOANO” takes its roots from a majestic small town in Italy and was developed by the original Mercedes-Benz Sprinter car design team in the Research and Development Center in Stuttgart, Germany.
TOANO has inherited the genes and excellence of German design in its inward and outward appearance, which are more than just for aesthetics. The grille is modest yet robust. The front headlights are full of tenacity. The body lines are rugged. Accordingly, TOANO exceptionally facilitates business travel and logistics freight transport.

SAUVANA, inherent strength
SAUVANA is Foton’s first and original, rough-and-rugged cross-country SUV, originating in North America. Sporting rugged styling, muscular and fluid lines and built for cross-country excursions, for an embodiment of cross-country spirit, are all found in this American offspring.
SAUVANA’s dimensions are 4830 mm*1910 mm*1840 mm, with a 2790 mm wheelbase. The angle of approach, angle of departure and the breakover angle of SAUVANA is 36, 24 and 23 degrees, respectively, along with a minimum 220mm ground clearance. SAUVANA has a body-on-frame construction, independent front double wishbone suspension and five-link rear suspension.
When choosing TOANO or SAUVANA, it is important to be acquainted with the fact that either can be equipped with a BFCEC ISF 2.8 liter engine, the first choice for Foton vehicles, known and trusted since 2010. BFCEC ISF 2.8 liter engines have 120kW/3600rpm maximum rated power and 360N.m/1800-3600rpm maximum torque. In addition, engine cold start fully guarantees vehicle operation in harsh weather environments.
