- Visser and Badenhorst vie for 2012 Absa Off Road Championship honours
- Team Ford Racing among the only crews to finish every round this season

PRETORIA, South Africa, 20 November 2012 The 2012 Absa Off Road Championship will be decided at the final round of the season, the Gold 400. The event gets underway on 23 November in Westonaria with Team Ford Racing still firmly in the hunt.
Chris Visser and Japie Badenhorst, who have won the last two rounds in their SP Ford Ranger, are 18.5 points behind log-leaders Duncan Vos and Rob Howie (Toyota) however there is a two-point swing in favour of the Ford crew if the points drop is taken into account.
The event is the third event of the season to venture into new territory and as such there is an element of the unknown. Being a mining area a number of hazardous obstacles could well hamper crew’s efforts, while the unpredictable weather of late could also play a part in the final outcome of the race.
“Regardless of the outcome, the team has every reason to be proud,” explains Team Manager Neil Woolridge.
The two championship leaders and the second Team Ford Racing pair of Lance Woolridge and Ward Huxtable are the only Production Vehicle crews with a 100 percent finishing records this season.
“The whole team has put in a tremendous effort to ensure both cars have crossed the finish line at every event thus far this year,” he adds.
A win for the Ford crew would be especially significant as the teams existing cars will next year make way for the all-new Ford Ranger.
“It is the end of an era. Over the past few years we have had a number of firsts with the current Rangers, we’ve learnt a lot and had some remarkable results. To clinch the title on our final outing with these vehicles would be the cherry on top,” concluded Woolridge.
