Ford Everest Now Equipped with SVI’s Discreet B4 and B6 Armoring Packages
SVI Engineering, a leading specialist manufacturer of armored products in South Africa, has announced the availability of Ford-recognized B4 and B6 discreet armoring packages for the Everest. This exciting development means the latest-generation Ford Everest SUV can now be equipped with advanced armoring solutions while retaining full factory backing.
Factory-Backed Armoring with SVI’s QVM Status
Thanks to SVI’s Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) status with Ford, these armoring packages can be ordered directly from any Blue Oval dealership in South Africa. Importantly, the Everest’s standard manufacturer warranty and any selected service or maintenance plans remain completely intact. Additionally, the entire package—including the purchase price of the base vehicle and the cost of the selected armor—can be financed via Ford Credit.
Nicol Louw, SVI Business Development Director, remarked, “Considering the ongoing success of our partnership with Ford to provide factory-backed armor across the Ranger line-up, it made perfect sense to extend our offering to the versatile and highly capable Everest range.”

B4 and B6 Discreet Armoring Packages for the Ford Everest
SVI’s engineering team leveraged its extensive industry experience and in-depth knowledge of the closely related Ranger to develop bespoke B4 and B6 discreet armoring solutions for the Everest.
- B4 Discreet Package: This 360-degree package offers protection against handguns up to .44 Magnum, making it an ideal anti-hijack solution. The package includes 21 mm armored glass (curved to original-equipment specifications) and Kevlar sheets for the body, along with armored-steel plates in various vulnerable areas. The lightweight solution minimally impacts vehicle performance, avoiding the need for a suspension upgrade and retaining the standard door hinges.
- B6 Discreet Package: This package provides 360-degree protection against assault rifles, including AK47, R1, and R5, catering to high-profile individuals needing the highest level of civilian protection available in South Africa. It features custom-fabricated armored steel plates, composite materials, and high-grade 38 mm ballistic glass. To manage the additional mass, a suspension upgrade and upgraded door hinges are included.
Both packages ensure that the SUV’s various driver-assistance safety systems, including those reliant on sensors mounted behind the windscreen, remain fully operational.
Cost and Build Time
When ordered via a Ford dealer, the 360-degree B4 armoring solution for the Ford Everest is priced from R725 684 (excluding VAT), while the B6 package starts at R928 534 (excluding VAT). Optional upgrades include roof armor, floor armor, a PA system, and heavy-duty runflat rings for the tires. The project build time is approximately three months for each package.
