Fleet professionals are being reminded that time is running out to enter the Fleet Safety Awards 2025, with only three weeks remaining until the submission deadline on 25 September 2025. This prestigious awards programme not only celebrates excellence in road safety across the mobility sector but also offers a total of R250 000 in major cash prizes, making it an unmissable opportunity for organisations and individuals alike.

The awards highlight the vital role played by fleet managers, drivers, and companies in promoting road safety, recognising those who go above and beyond mere compliance. Eugene Herbert, CEO of MasterDrive, stresses the importance of thoughtful preparation:

“Rushing a last-minute submission could mean missing the opportunity to showcase your organisation’s commitment to safety leadership to its full extent. The most compelling award submissions are those that thoroughly demonstrate the depth and breadth of safety initiatives.”

Herbert explains that quality entries are those that provide detailed examples, quantifiable results, and evidence of sustained commitment to road safety. “Successful submissions require time to gather comprehensive data and present a solid demonstration of your safety journey. Compelling data, along with thoughtful reflection on one’s safety contributions, will be difficult to accurately condense in a few hurried hours before the deadline,” he adds.

What Judges Are Looking For

The judging panel seeks individuals and organisations who transcend basic regulatory compliance, identifying leaders and innovators who:

  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in safety performance and incident reduction
  • Show genuine commitment to fostering a safety-first culture
  • Implement comprehensive policies and procedures that exceed industry standards
  • Display leadership in promoting road safety within teams and the broader industry
  • Integrate sustainable practices alongside safety excellence
  • Actively contribute to advancing road safety knowledge and best practices
  • Serve as positive role models and mentors
