Linea fends off the likes of Honda, Toyota and Suzuki to become India’s best!
Fiat India Automobile Limited turned a new leaf with the much awaited Linea winning the ‘Car of the year’ award by Autocar and ‘Midsize car of the year’ award by Autocar and Overdrive along with the Fiat 500 procuring the title of ‘Import of the year’ award by Overdrive. The Fiat cars battled the exhaustive list of parameters and were chosen as ‘the outstanding contenders’ among many other top contenders.
The Fiat Linea came out victorious among tough competitors like the New Honda City, Maruti Swift Dzire, Skoda Fabia, Hyundai i20, Toyota Corolla Altis and many more for the most awaited and acclaimed awards of the year organised by the leading Indian automotive magazines.
This has been one of the biggest milestones achieved by Fiat in the country and the success is well deserved. The cars equipped with sophisticated features in its segment, has certainly raised the bar for their respective segments in the country.
The Fiat 500 and Linea mark a big leap forward for Fiat in India and embody the company’s new philosophy in India, aimed at bringing its activities and services up to the maximum levels of performance.
If all goes according to plan, the Linea will make its South African debut in the second half of 2009.
