FIAT Professional has officially introduced TRIS, its first-ever three-wheeled electric vehicle, in the Africa and Middle East (MEA) region—marking a significant milestone in the brand’s sustainability journey and commitment to last-mile urban mobility. Compact, capable, and purpose-built for today’s dynamic urban environments, TRIS represents a new era in commercial mobility—one where affordability, versatility, and zero emissions go hand-in-hand.
A Game-Changer for Urban and B2B Micromobility
Developed by FIAT’s Centro Stile in Italy and manufactured in Morocco, TRIS is not just another compact vehicle—it is a strategic solution tailored to the growing demands of urban logistics and last-mile delivery in the MEA region. With a homologated electric range of 90 km and a robust 48V motor, TRIS is purpose-built for business owners, local entrepreneurs, and gig economy workers who need dependable, efficient, and cost-effective transportation.
Olivier Francois, FIAT CEO and Stellantis Global Chief Marketing Officer, describes TRIS as “more than just a new vehicle—it’s a breakthrough in how we think about urban mobility.” Designed to empower independent workers and underserved communities alike, TRIS emerges as a symbol of economic inclusion and a pragmatic solution to rising urbanisation and transport deficits across the region.
Simplicity Meets Innovation
The name “TRIS” pays homage to its three-wheel design, modular versatility, and signature three-light LED headlamp arrangement. It is easy to pronounce across languages and markets, enhancing its global appeal. But TRIS is more than a clever name—it’s a cleverly engineered machine that makes electric mobility accessible to more people than ever before.
Thanks to its integrated charging system and built-in 220V plug, TRIS can be charged directly from a standard domestic socket—no special charging infrastructure needed. A full charge from zero to 80% takes just 3.5 hours, with a complete charge in under five. This plug-and-play simplicity is key to its appeal, ensuring maximum uptime for professionals without the added complexity or cost.
Built for Business: Three Configurations, Infinite Possibilities
TRIS is available in three highly flexible variants: Flatbed, Pick-Up, and Chassis-Cabin. Each offers a modular platform for a range of commercial uses:
- Pick-Up: Ideal for transporting goods such as fresh produce, furniture, or construction materials.
- Flatbed: Offers a wide loading area for businesses with varied hauling needs.
- Chassis-Cabin: Serves as a blank canvas for custom upfits, from mobile shops to cold chain solutions.
The design focuses on practicality, with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 1,025 kg and a maximum payload of 540 kg—enough to carry a standard Euro pallet with ease. A tight turning radius of just 3.05 meters makes it exceptionally manoeuvrable in narrow city streets, alleys, and crowded delivery zones.

Designed with Drivers in Mind
Recognising that business owners often spend long hours behind the wheel, TRIS places a premium on driver comfort and usability. The spacious cabin offers ergonomic seating, easy access, and thoughtful storage options—including a glove box and dashboard compartments. A digital 5.7-inch display provides real-time vehicle status, while onboard USB-C and 12V sockets keep devices charged and connected.
Safety is also top-tier for its category, meeting European homologation standards with three-point seat belts, a reverse buzzer, ignition-activated front LED lighting, and more. Its steel tubular chassis is coated in automotive-grade zinc to ensure long-term durability and resistance to corrosion—even in demanding environments.
Sustainable, Scalable, and Strategically Positioned
Stellantis has strategically chosen the MEA region as the launchpad for TRIS, a reflection of both the region’s accelerating urbanisation and its growing appetite for innovative transport solutions. With MEA’s urban population growing at 3% annually, TRIS offers a smart, scalable answer to the region’s increasingly complex mobility puzzle.
“Micromobility is no longer just about moving people,” says Samir Cherfan, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis for the Middle East and Africa. “It is a powerful driver of inclusion and local economic growth. TRIS is here to support entrepreneurs, strengthen logistics, and empower entire communities—especially in underserved areas.”
The rollout includes flexible financing options like leasing and lease-to-own packages, further reducing barriers to ownership and fostering grassroots entrepreneurship.
Connected for the Future
TRIS also signals the beginning of a new digital chapter for FIAT Professional. Future updates will introduce connected services such as fleet management and real-time vehicle tracking—tools designed to enhance productivity, monitor performance, and streamline operations for fleet operators.
Its pixel-inspired LED lighting and harmonious proportions reflect Italian design sensibilities, while its rugged underpinnings echo the strength and reliability FIAT Professional is known for. More than a transport solution, TRIS is a vehicle with personality—a distinctive presence on the road that blends utility with identity.
Driving Progress in Every Sense
As FIAT Professional expands its presence across global markets, TRIS is positioned not just as a product, but as a platform for transformation. It’s a bold response to the urgent need for clean, adaptable transport solutions that match the speed and complexity of modern urban life.
With its unique three-wheeled layout, all-electric drivetrain, and Italian flair, TRIS is poised to redefine what business mobility looks like in the 21st century—starting with the vibrant and fast-evolving cities of Africa and the Middle East.
