Silverstone on 24 May 2026 became more than a battleground of racing machinery and roaring engines. It also became a classroom, studio, and proving ground for emerging visual storytellers as @FerrariUK hosted the inaugural 2026 Motorsport Photography Competition alongside the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli UK weekend.
Across three intense days, participants received trackside photography tuition and were then challenged to translate speed, precision and emotion into still images that could stand on their own in a world defined by motion. When the shutters finally settled, it was Ellie Majumdar who rose above a highly competitive field to claim the top honour, impressing the judging panel with both technical execution and creative instinct.
The judging team included renowned photography creator Miles Hyerscough-Harris of the Expired Film Club, who, alongside the wider panel, highlighted Ellie’s standout selection of images as well as her willingness to experiment. Her ability to absorb new ideas, refine technique on the fly and consistently push for more impactful compositions became a defining factor in her win, setting her apart in a field built on raw talent and ambition.
In addition to recognition from Ferrari UK, Ellie’s victory carries a significant step forward in her professional journey. She will join the @FerrariUK social media team at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali, taking place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from 19 to 22 November, where she will contribute to one of the brand’s most prestigious global gatherings. She will also receive a one-year complementary membership of the Guild of Motoring Writers, further anchoring her place within the motorsport media landscape.
Reflecting on the achievement, Ellie said: “I was shocked when I found out that I’d won, but, of course, very happy. The competition has been a great opportunity to meet with and talk to other photographers, while also pushing ourselves to do our best. I’ve wanted to succeed in the industry for a long time and, while the journey has been long, this win has been a fantastic reminder that I’m on the right track.”
Although this marks the first edition of the competition, Ferrari UK has confirmed it will not be the last. Aspiring photographers are encouraged to follow @FerrariUK social media channels for future announcements, as the initiative looks set to become a recurring platform for discovering and developing the next generation of motorsport visual talent.
