Maranello, 1 July 2024 – In a pioneering move within the luxury automotive industry, Ferrari is launching two new extended warranty services tailored specifically for its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models. This initiative makes Ferrari the first manufacturer to offer scheduled replacement of the high-voltage battery (HVB) upon reaching the 8th and 16th year of the vehicle’s life.
These innovative programs, named Warranty Extension Hybrid and Power Hybrid, are available for the SF90 Stradale, SF90 Spider, SF90 XX Stradale, SF90 XX Spider, 296 GTB, and 296 GTS models. They are designed to enhance Ferrari’s already class-leading range of after-sales services, ensuring that owners can maintain the performance and excellence of their hybrid Ferrari sports cars over an extended period.
The Warranty Extension Hybrid and Power Hybrid services can be purchased in renewable packages ranging from two to four years. These services are available through any authorized Ferrari dealer, regardless of the vehicle’s production year. Even vehicles that are beyond the factory warranty, which covers the first four years in the UK (three years in other regions), can activate these programs following a technical inspection by Ferrari personnel.
Currently, owners of Ferrari PHEVs benefit from a five-year warranty on hybrid components. By opting for the Warranty Extension Hybrid program, owners receive an all-inclusive extended warranty that covers the entire vehicle. Moreover, if the warranty is extended to the eighth year, Ferrari will replace the high-voltage battery pack (HVB) at no additional cost.
The Power Hybrid program allows clients to extend the factory warranty on all major powertrain components, including those related to the hybrid system, from the 8th to the 16th year. This program also includes the replacement of the HVB at no extra cost in the 16th year.
Both programs ensure that in the event of advancements in battery technology, the replacement HVB will be a state-of-the-art component, maintaining the same level of performance as the original. Additionally, these extended warranty programs are transferable to subsequent owners, providing continued peace of mind.
