Viglietti Motors and Shell V-Power storm Johannesburg
Johannesburg, 17 February 2014. Viglietti Motors, in association with Shell South Africa and the Southern Equitorial Ferrari Automobili Club (SEFAC), took to the streets of the FNB Precinct in Johannesburg on Saturday 15 February for the launch of Shell V-Power Nitro+, the latest in the oil giant’s line of high-tech fuels.
Incorporating a host of Ferrari vehicles including the F60 Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 racer – piloted by Formula 1 ace and Scuderia Ferrari test driver Marc Gené – the launch event saw the streets around the world-famous FNB stadium, Soccer City, transformed into a street circuit where the various road cars and Ferrari racing car wowed crowds with sights, sounds and excitement that only the Ferrari brand can invoke.
Cementing ongoing ties with Shell, the Formula 1 car was filled at a conventional Shell filling station with new Shell V-Power Nitro+ fuel after which it completed several laps of the temporary street circuit, including a display of simulated pit stops to give the public an idea of just how quick and involving they can be.
Supported by members of SEFAC and Viglietti clients, who brought their own examples of iconic Ferrari automobili, the road car presence included modern classics like the Ferrari 458 Spider, F12berlinetta, 612 Scaglietti, 599 GTO, F430 Scuderia Spider 16M and California. Led by Gené in the 458 Italia the streets of FNB Precinct came alive with the sound of the world’s most prominent supercar brand, the tuneful songs sung by the V8 and V12 engines bringing a unique flavour to the area.
