After the roaring success of its debut, Suzuki Auto South Africa is turning up the volume on its celebration of freedom, adventure and community. The Suzuki Safari Town Festival is back – and this time, it’s bigger, bolder and open to everyone.

Set against the vast beauty of Oudtshoorn’s iconic Recreation Ground, this year’s festival – taking place on Saturday, 27 September 2025 – is the sparkling centrepiece of the Jimny Gathering weekend, an annual celebration that captures the essence of Suzuki’s spirited lifestyle. Whether you’re a die-hard Jimny driver, a music lover, or just in the mood for a good old-fashioned jol under the Karoo sun, this is the place to be.

A Star-Studded Soundtrack to Your Weekend

The heartbeat of the 2025 festival is undoubtedly the live music stage, which will come alive with a powerful line-up of top-tier South African artists. From the infectious rhythms of Jeremy Loops to the soulful Afrikaans rock of Spoegwolf, and the electric energy of Karen Zoid to the razor-sharp wit of Early B, the Suzuki Safari Town Festival promises a sonic journey that captures the rich diversity of Mzansi’s music scene.

Adding a dose of humour and charisma, festival favourite Schalk Bezuidenhout returns as the official MC, bringing his signature blend of charm and sharp one-liners to keep the crowd entertained between sets.

It’s Not Just a Festival – It’s a Vibe

While the music takes centre stage, the organisers have ensured that every aspect of the festival experience hits the right note. Expect a feast of flavours with a wide range of food trucks and refreshment vendors, plus craft bars serving up artisanal drinks for every palate. Kids can enjoy a dedicated entertainment area, while fans can look forward to artist meet-and-greet opportunities throughout the day.

“It’s all about capturing the Suzuki spirit,” says Henk van der Schyf, event organiser. “The first Safari Town Festival was something special – we had amazing energy, a fantastic turnout, and a real sense of community. For 2025, we’ve taken that feeling and elevated it. More music, more fun, more ways to celebrate life in the great outdoors.”

Everyone’s Invited

Though the Suzuki Safari Town Festival forms part of the Jimny Gathering weekend – a multi-day adventure for Jimny owners that includes 4×4 trails in the majestic Outeniqua Mountains – the festival is not just for the Jimny crowd.

“Suzuki is a brand that embraces all South Africans,” says Brendon Carpenter, Brand Marketing Manager at Suzuki Auto South Africa. “We want anyone who’s in Oudtshoorn that weekend to be part of the festivities. Whether you drive a Jimny or not, this is your invitation to join in the fun, enjoy phenomenal music, and soak up the unmistakable Suzuki gees.”
