Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a significant upgrade to its compact GLA SUV, introducing a host of innovations and enhanced standard features. The new design includes a bold radiator grille with vertical louvres and a horizontal fin, which complements the GLA’s powerful character. The subtle power domes on the bonnet and the redesigned front bumper with visual underride protection accentuate the vehicle’s off-road capabilities.
The GLA now comes equipped with modern LED High Performance headlights and redesigned LED rear lights that offer a contemporary light signature. A new Spectral Blue paint color and four additional wheel designs expand the customization options. The base model features 18-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels in high-gloss black with turned surfaces, with optional wheels ranging from 19 to 20 inches.
Inside, the GLA boasts a significantly upgraded interior with a free-standing double screen setup. The standard configuration includes a 7-inch display for the instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch media display. Optional dual 10.25-inch wide-screen displays offer a high-tech experience, enhancing the open-plan architecture. The standard leather-wrapped steering wheel can be swapped for an ARTICO imitation leather alternative.

The new GLA comes with a comprehensive standard equipment package that includes a leather steering wheel, LED front headlights, Highbeam Assist, a backup camera, and a USB package. The latest MBUX generation features newly designed display styles: “Classic” for essential driver information, “Sporty” with a dynamic rev counter, and “Discreet” for minimalistic content. Navigation, Assistance, and Services modes, combined with ten Ambient Light color worlds, provide extensive customization options.
The upgraded telematics system offers a new design and improved performance. Wireless connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is now available, along with an additional illuminated USB-C port and increased USB charging power.
The intelligent voice assistant in the Mercedes me app has been enhanced for better dialogue and learning capabilities, offering personalized infotainment, comfort, and vehicle functions based on the driver’s habits and preferences.
The new GLA features electrified petrol engines with four-cylinder units and eight-speed DCT dual-clutch transmissions as standard. Mild hybrids include a 48-volt on-board power supply and a belt-driven starter-generator, providing an additional 10 kW of power for improved agility and comfort. The system also supports coasting with the combustion engine off and recovers energy during braking and acceleration.
