BICESTER, United Kingdom – Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty company (NYSE: HGTY), marked an emphatic debut with its inaugural Zürich Auction on Saturday, 1 November 2025, delivering a thrilling showcase of some of the world’s most coveted collector cars. Held in partnership with Auto Zürich at the luxurious Dolder Grand hotel overlooking Lake Zürich, the event attracted enthusiasts and collectors from 24 countries, culminating in total sales exceeding CHF 22 million, with 87 percent of lots sold.
The star of the catalogue was a remarkably preserved 1956 Jaguar D-Type, XKD 551, one of only 87 ever made. Never raced competitively, this pristine example retained its original allure and is eligible for premier historic events such as the Le Mans Classic and Mille Miglia Storica. It achieved a sensational CHF 5’181’250, confirming its status as a pinnacle of automotive heritage.
Modern hypercars also captured the imagination of bidders, led by a 2024 Gloss Storm Purple Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider, which sold for CHF 2’706’250. This sale follows Broad Arrow’s recent success auctioning the coupe version of the Valkyrie, cementing its reputation as a leader in high-performance, collectible hypercars.
Equally notable was a 1952 Ferrari 212 Europa Pinin Farina Coupe, originally owned by legendary Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman. This post-war icon, chassis number 0265 EU, sold for CHF 816’250, a testament to its enduring desirability and its role in shaping Ferrari’s post-war design language. Classic Ferraris dominated the auction, with a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Alloy achieving CHF 2’312’500, while modern models like the 2023 Ferrari 812 Competizione A sold for CHF 1’525’000. A rare 2004 Ferrari 575 GTC ‘Stradale’ exceeded expectations, closing at CHF 230’000, and the 2009 Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M reached CHF 501’250, showcasing the continued enthusiasm for both classic and contemporary Ferraris.
The auction also highlighted a series of Lamborghini rarities, including a 1969 Islero at CHF 270’250 and a 2010 Reventón Roadster, one of only 15 made, fetching CHF 1’356’250. Porsche enthusiasts were equally active, with a 2015 918 Spyder selling for CHF 1’418’125, while a 1981 924 Carrera GT exceeded its estimate at CHF 97’750, and two GT3/GT2 variants achieved CHF 195’500 and CHF 310’000, respectively.
“The Zürich Auction was a tremendous success,” said Joe Twyman, VP of Sales, EMEA, “bringing together an unparalleled range of cars in a magnificent setting. The results speak for themselves and mark a perfect conclusion to our 2025 European calendar, following our Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and Zoute Concours sales.”
Paul Gaucher, Head of Consignments, Broad Arrow Switzerland, added: “Swiss collectors’ passion for historic and modern classics was evident in every lot. We presented cars that appeal to multiple generations of enthusiasts, demonstrating that collector cars transcend age and geography.”
