Enviro Automotive has expanded its battery-electric vehicle (BEV) portfolio with the introduction of the SRM T3 EV, a 1.6-tonne forward-cab electric bakkie designed to meet the demands of modern urban logistics and last-mile delivery. This innovative commercial electric vehicle offers a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for businesses looking to modernise their fleets while supporting global sustainability goals.
Leading the Charge in Eco-Friendly Transport
The SRM T3 EV is produced by Shineray Reefer Motors (SRM), a leading Chinese brand recognised for its reliable and cost-effective commercial vehicles. SRM specialises in light commercial and electric vehicles, offering businesses a chance to reduce their carbon footprint while benefiting from advanced technology and efficiency. Gawie Brink, Technical Director at Enviro Automotive, highlights the T3 EV’s practicality: “Our new SRM T3 EV is designed for urban logistics and last-mile deliveries, offering businesses a practical, efficient, and eco-friendly solution. It is ideal for modernising fleets and supporting global sustainability goals while improving operational efficiency.”
Efficient Performance and Zero Emissions
The SRM T3 EV boasts a class-leading electric propulsion system that combines zero emissions with powerful performance. Its synchronous electric motor produces 60 kW and 220 Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels for smooth and efficient urban transport. Equipped with a 53.58 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, the vehicle offers an impressive range of up to 300 km per charge, making it ideal for short-haul urban deliveries.
Charging is simple and versatile, with support for both AC and DC charging standards. Using an 11 kW AC charger, the T3 can achieve a full charge in just three hours, while a 55 kW DC charger can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in about 35 minutes, minimising downtime and maximising productivity.

Designed for Urban Delivery Efficiency
Measuring 5,190 mm in length, the SRM T3 EV offers a spacious load box of 3,100 mm x 1,680 mm x 370 mm, with a total cargo space of 5.2 m². Its impressive 1.6-tonne payload capacity allows businesses to transport significant loads without sacrificing manoeuvrability on tight city streets. The vehicle is also customisable, offering flatbed, cabin box, or high-box configurations, depending on business requirements.
Brink explains the importance of this adaptability: “With a maximum payload of 1.6 tonnes—equivalent to the weight of a mid-size SUV—the T3 provides significant versatility for transporting goods efficiently across different industries.”
Advanced Safety and Driver Comfort
The SRM T3 EV is built with driver safety and comfort in mind, featuring advanced driver-assistance systems and a reinforced body structure. Key safety features include ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), dual SRS airbags, and Electric Power Steering (EPS) with Auto Return. A reverse camera with parking sensors enhances visibility, particularly in urban settings, while the McPherson independent front suspension and 6-leaf spring rear suspension provide stability, even when carrying heavy loads.
Comfort is not compromised, with modern features like air conditioning and a 9-inch multimedia system that supports Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and DAB. The flat-bottom steering wheel provides additional legroom, ensuring a more comfortable driving experience during long hours on the road.
Competitive Pricing and Green Energy Solutions
The SRM T3 EV is competitively priced at R669,900 (VAT excl.), including a 3-year/60,000 km warranty and service plan, with a 6-year/360,000 km warranty for the traction battery. Service intervals are every 12 months or 20,000 km, making the T3 a low-maintenance option for businesses. As an added advantage, pairing the vehicle with solar charging can lead to significant cost savings, further encouraging the shift toward green energy solutions.
“With competitive pricing, low operating costs, and zero emissions, the SRM T3 EV is an ideal choice for businesses shifting to sustainable logistics,” notes Gideon Wolvaardt, Managing Director of Enviro Automotive.
Preorders for the SRM T3 EV are now open, with the first shipment nearly sold out. For more information or to schedule a demonstration, businesses can contact Enviro Automotive or visit their website.
