Ingolstadt, April 23, 2024 – Audi has unveiled significant upgrades to its electrified Q7 and Q8 models, including a revamped battery system and advanced driving technologies for greater efficiency and dynamic performance.
The new models, branded as 55 TFSI e quattro, are equipped with a robust 3.0 TFSI V6 engine paired with a powerful electric motor, producing a system output of 394PS and 600Nm of torque. This combination allows both vehicles to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 5.7 seconds, achieving a top speed of 149 mph, with an electric-only top speed of 84 mph.
At the core of these enhancements is a newly designed lithium battery with a 25.9 kWh capacity, located under the boot floor. The battery design optimizes space with 17 cell stacks providing up to 52 miles of electric range for the Q7 and 51 miles for the Q8 on a single charge. The battery fully charges in about three hours and 45 minutes at 7.4 kW.
Both models now feature enhanced driving modes. The fully electric EV mode prioritizes battery usage, while the hybrid mode operates in two settings: auto and hold. Auto mode utilizes a predictive strategy that maximizes electric power based on navigation inputs, while hold mode maintains the battery’s charge level during longer drives.

A significant innovation in these models is the introduction of electromechanical active roll stabilization (eAWS) in the Q7 Vorsprung, enhancing the dynamic handling by adjusting the stabilizer bars to reduce body roll during spirited driving.
Exterior upgrades include redesigned front and rear aprons that emphasize the SUVs’ robust aesthetic. The inclusion of all-wheel steering in the Vorsprung specification enhances maneuverability and stability.
The equipment range has also been broadened. Standard features now include high-intensity Matrix LED headlights, a rearview camera, and adaptive air suspension. The top-tier Vorsprung models boast innovative HD Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser light, digital OLED rear lights, and digital light signatures selectable via the MMI interface.
