Today 21 December 2012 I were searching for the “End of the World” Google doodle and could not find it, when I posted about it on my Google+ profile page, someone quickly pointed me in the direction of Google.co.uk where there is indeed a End of the World Google Doodle titled “End of the 13th Baktun”.
What does End of the 13th Baktun mean?
It simply means the “End of the Mayan Calendar” many people have interpret it as a sign of the “End of the World” the original Mayan Calendar was used to tell Mayan farmers about Agricultural trends and was based on the position of the moon and stars.
People reacted differently to the “End of the 13th Baktun”
From Social Media trends it is obviously that people reacted differently about the ” End of the 13th Baktun” some people panicked and vigirously spread rumors that the world is going to end on the 21st of December 2012, while others used the opportunity to create jokes about the end of the world and the End of the 13th Baktun.

The end of the world Weather report is one of those images that are worth a thousand words. In the image the originator have drawn a simple weather report showing good weather. However on the 21 December 2012 there is a meteor storm predicted, and after the 21 December 2012 there is nothing else predicted, predicting the end of the world! The End of the 13th Baktun Weather Report is classic and I loved it!

Earlier this year during the Superbowl 2012 games, Chevrolet came out with the Apocalypse Advertisement, during the last days of December the advertisement quickly started trending again due to its relevance to the end of the world and the Mayan Calendar.

The End of the World Chevrolet advertisement have now received more than 7,699,515 views on YouTube. Interestingly enough at the end of the video one of the End of the World survivors holds up a Twinkies bag to share with his friends. Twinkies did not make it to the ” End of the 13th Baktun” and seems to be now discontinued.
If the world is not ending today it is only the End of the 13th Baktun and nothing more. This Joke and Cartoon tells the story the best! There might be a completely logical reason why the Mayan’s have never completed the Calendar and thought by doing a Calendar a 1000 years in advance should be enough, and never knew that there calendar will have such a big effect on the world on the 21 December 2012 when the calendar comes to an end!
