Hyundai’s second all-electric N model promises razor-sharp dynamics, immersive driving tech and a disruptive vision for high-performance EVs
SEOUL, July 3, 2025 – Hyundai Motor Company is turning up the voltage on electric performance as it teases the global debut of the highly anticipated IONIQ 6 N at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Scheduled for unveiling on July 10 at 12:30 BST (20:30 KST), the IONIQ 6 N is poised to build on the award-winning success of the IONIQ 5 N, delivering a new breed of track-capable, road-ready electric excitement.
At the heart of this next-generation performance EV is Hyundai’s unwavering commitment to making electric cars thrilling to drive—beyond straight-line speed. With upgraded chassis tech, interactive drive features and an aerodynamically sculpted silhouette, the IONIQ 6 N elevates the N brand’s three core tenets: ‘Corner Rascal’, ‘Racetrack Capability’ and ‘Everyday Sports Car’.
Precision Under Pressure: Advanced Suspension and Chassis Engineering
The IONIQ 6 N benefits from an all-new suspension geometry, optimised to harness its sleek sedan proportions and low ride height. Compared to its crossover sibling, the IONIQ 5 N, the 6 N introduces a lowered roll center and enlarged caster trail, resulting in improved steering feedback, better self-centering behavior, and heightened driver confidence in high-speed corners.
Complementing these revisions are new electronically controlled stroke-sensing (ECS) dampers, designed to strike a delicate balance between razor-sharp handling and refined ride comfort. The result is a platform that encourages spirited driving—whether carving through backroads or tackling track days—without sacrificing daily usability.
Technological Immersion: N e-shift, N Active Sound + and the Ambient Shift Light
Hyundai has also dialled up the sensory engagement through its enhanced N e-shift and N Active Sound + systems. These immersive features mimic the visceral characteristics of petrol-powered gear shifts and engine notes, adding a tangible rhythm and emotional intensity to the electric driving experience.
New to the IONIQ 6 N is the ‘N Ambient Shift Light’, a visually captivating system that signals optimal shift points via ambient interior lighting—blending performance cues with design flair in a uniquely EV-centric way.

Drift Like a Pro: Customisable N Drift Optimizer
For the purists and adrenaline seekers, the N Drift Optimizer has been further refined. It now offers a wider spectrum of customisation, allowing drivers to tailor drift assist levels based on their skill and confidence behind the wheel. This isn’t just tech for tech’s sake—it’s Hyundai N’s way of giving drivers a deeper connection to the machine, even in sideways motion.
A Teased Icon in Motion
A striking teaser film released via the Hyundai N Worldwide YouTube channel reveals glimpses of the IONIQ 6 N’s agile stance and menacing silhouette as it attacks the track. Paired with recently unveiled teaser images, we get a sense of the car’s performance-first DNA: flared wheel arches, a wider stance, lightweight wheels, and a motorsport-inspired swan-neck rear spoiler, all tuned for high-speed stability and aerodynamic efficiency.
Goodwood Premiere and N Brand Showcase
The IONIQ 6 N will make its dynamic public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed’s iconic hill climb, surrounded by Hyundai’s full N portfolio within a dedicated Hyundai N Booth. Visitors can expect interactive experiences including racing simulators, photo zones, and exclusive merchandise. Those who complete all booth activities will gain access to the N Grandstand, providing premium vantage points to witness the N fleet in action.
Challenging the Status Quo of EV Performance
“The IONIQ 6 N has been developed to provide the most engaging driving experience possible in an EV,” said Joon Park, Vice President and Head of N Management Group. “Hyundai N will once again disrupt the EV segment—not through raw numbers alone—but by proving how deeply enjoyable electric driving can be.”
With the IONIQ 6 N, Hyundai isn’t chasing acceleration records—it’s chasing passion. It’s about making the EV experience visceral, human, and fun.
