LONDON, 1 May 2025 – In a bold move that continues to redefine classic motoring for the modern era, British EV conversion specialist Inverted has unveiled its latest electrified masterpieces: the Land Rover Series I, II, and III. Known for its uncompromising craftsmanship and technical ingenuity, Inverted is now bringing its celebrated electric expertise — first seen in its Range Rover Classic builds — to Britain’s most iconic off-roaders.
Where Heritage Meets High Voltage
The Land Rover Series models are legendary in their simplicity, durability, and utilitarian charm. Inverted’s reimagining respects this legacy while seamlessly integrating modern electric propulsion, making these vehicles just as suited to today’s city streets as they are to remote mountain passes.
Each build is fully bespoke, with customers invited to co-create their vision alongside Inverted’s founder, Harry Millington. Whether the brief calls for a faithful restoration or a radically individual reinterpretation, no two vehicles are ever the same.
“Series Land Rovers are beautiful, iconic machines,” Millington says. “But let’s face it — not everyone wants to wrestle with a choke on a cold morning or breathe in exhaust fumes. Our electrified versions preserve everything people love about these classics while making them more fun, more reliable, and infinitely more usable.”

Engineering, Elevated
Beneath the familiar aluminium bodywork lies a thoroughly modern EV architecture. Power comes from a 62kWh waterproof battery pack — cleverly split between the front and rear to ensure balanced handling and improved traction. The system delivers power to a 160bhp electric motor producing a hefty 900Nm of torque — more than enough to conquer steep inclines or effortlessly cruise urban boulevards.
The original transfer box remains in place, retaining selectable high/low range gearing and a locking centre differential — a nod to the Land Rover’s enduring off-road credibility. And with a 0–60mph time of approximately 8 seconds, this is a Series Land Rover that doesn’t just look the part — it moves like a modern machine.
Drive modes include Eco, Traffic, and Off-Road, each optimised for efficiency, terrain, and regenerative braking sensitivity. A range of around 120 real-world miles and the inclusion of both 6.6kW Type 2 and 60kW CCS fast-charging options ensure day-to-day usability. A 20–80% charge takes just 38 minutes with rapid charging.
Complementing the performance upgrades are electric power steering and servo-assisted brakes, elevating comfort and control to levels the original designers could scarcely have imagined.
New Defender Electrification Kit: Classic Meets Capability
Inverted isn’t stopping with the Series models. Building on the acclaim of its Range Rover Classic conversions, the brand has introduced a new, seamlessly integrated electrification kit for the Land Rover Defender — another legend in the 4×4 world.
This advanced kit includes a class-leading 82kWh battery pack — both heated and cooled — without compromising the Defender’s signature boot space. Available in two motor configurations — 300bhp or an exhilarating 450bhp — the system offers permanent four-wheel drive, robust performance, and rapid charging at up to 75kW.
The result? A fully electric Defender that stays true to its rugged spirit while embracing the refinement and efficiency demanded by modern life.
Whether you’re restoring a beloved Series model or future-proofing a Defender, Inverted is setting a new benchmark in classic EV conversions. Combining timeless design with state-of-the-art electric drivetrains, every Inverted build represents a union of heritage and innovation — crafted by hand, and built to be driven.
