April 9, 2012 – The British Photographer who made his name in American History and brought us some of the first movies “Eadweard J Muybridge”. If you have visited the Google Homepage on the 9th of April you would have seen the google logo turned into galloping horses.
The artist of the Google Doodle were spot on when creating the Eadweard J Muybridge Google Doodle of the Running horses. Eadweard J Muybridge were one of the pioneers in Motion Still Photography which lead to Motion Films as we know it today.
Born in England, Eadweard J Muybridge, who was of Dutch ancestry, spent a large part of his life in the United States. He is revered for his pioneering work in animal locomotion which used multiple cameras to capture motion. He is also remembered for his Zoopraxiscope, a device for projecting motion pictures that pre-dated the flexible perforated film strip.

I have created this short video about the Google Doodle and Eadweard J Muybridge. At first when I visited the Google Doodle this morning I were not sure who Eadweard J Muybridge were. Upon investigation I found that I am using the film techniques everyday of which he were a pioneer. Even most Advertisements on Google and websites make use of his techniques. Taking still images, creating them in sequence and getting an animation with a few image frames.
If you watch the video you will get an idea of the Photography technique that Eadweard J Muybridge used and how it is used in modern-day applications.
