PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA – 12 April 2025 – Daimler Truck Southern Africa (DTSA) has once again shone a spotlight on excellence and resilience within its dealer network, honouring top-performing partners at the prestigious 2024 Dealer of the Year (DOTY) awards. Held under the inspiring theme “Moving beyond the ordinary,” the event paid tribute to dealers and general distributors who demonstrated unwavering commitment and stellar performance in a year marked by a dynamic and evolving commercial vehicle market.

Taking centre stage for the third time in four years, Orbit Commercial Vehicles Cape Town was named the 2024 Overall Dealer of the Year and EliteClass winner. Their consistent excellence in meeting global dealer standards, surpassing performance targets, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring operational and compliance excellence has cemented their reputation as an industry leader. This accolade secures their place at the highly anticipated Daimler Truck Overseas EliteClub event later this year, where they will represent DTSA on the global stage.

“Orbit Commercial Vehicles Cape Town is a true example of a dealership that pursues excellence, constantly innovating, improving and exceeding expectations by truly understanding their customers’ needs,” said Maretha Gerber, President and Group CEO of DTSA. “They do not aspire to be good, but to be the best—leaving their customers and stakeholders feeling valued and satisfied after every interaction. They set the benchmark.”

Gerber also lauded the wider DTSA network for their determination throughout 2024, a year that demanded agility and resilience. “Stars shine brightest in the darkest skies, and our dealers and general distributors truly rose to the challenge. We are immensely proud of their achievements and grateful for their ongoing partnership.”

Recognising Excellence Across the Network

DTSA’s DOTY event highlighted achievements across seven award categories, spanning retail sales, customer service and parts, export performance, financial services, and used truck sales. A total of twelve awards were presented, with standout performers recognised for consistent monthly and quarterly achievements across key performance indicators.
