Mercedes-Benz Trucks is accelerating the decarbonisation of UK logistics, as its groundbreaking eActros 600 electric truck has been chosen by XPO Logistics to power PepsiCo’s push for zero-emissions transport. In a landmark fleet deployment, six eActros 600 units will begin operating across England and Wales, delivering PepsiCo’s household-name products with zero tailpipe emissions.
This strategic collaboration marks a major step forward in PepsiCo’s commitment to achieving net zero by 2050. By replacing diesel-powered trucks with battery-electric eActros 600s, XPO Logistics expects to complete over one million electric kilometres annually—equating to more than 1,200 tonnes of CO₂ saved each year.
“We are very proud to strengthen our partnership further with XPO Logistics for this order of our award-winning eActros 600s,” said Heiko Selzam, Managing Director, Daimler Truck UK. “This commitment underscores the recognition by both companies of the critical role these vehicles play in achieving their sustainability goals.”
A Flagship of Electric Freight Mobility
Recently crowned International Truck of the Year 2025, the eActros 600 exemplifies next-generation electric freight transport. Designed specifically for long-haul operations, it boasts a real-world range of over 500 km per charge, thanks to its highly efficient electric drivetrain and robust battery technology.
Beyond performance, the truck also sets a new benchmark in driver comfort and connectivity. Its premium cabin environment and intelligent energy management systems make it a true game-changer for fleet operators seeking both sustainability and productivity.
Ordered through Sales Consultant Rob Dale at SAGA Truck and Van, the new eActros 600 fleet is expected to be operational this month, transporting a wide array of PepsiCo’s beloved products—including Walkers, Doritos, Quaker Oats, and Pepsi MAX.
“This new partnership with XPO Logistics will play a vital role in further reducing our logistics emissions as we move iconic products like Walkers crisps and Doritos to our customers across the UK,” said Andrew Smethurst, UK Logistics Director, PepsiCo.

Smart Technology Meets Sustainability
The rollout of the eActros 600 is supported by XPO Logistics’ cutting-edge AI-powered CO₂ Reporting Dashboard, a real-time carbon tracking and optimisation tool. This technology enhances operational efficiency while delivering transparency on environmental performance.
“Sustainability is in our DNA,” said Dan Myers, Managing Director – UK and Ireland, XPO Logistics. “We are proud to partner with PepsiCo and Mercedes-Benz Trucks on this journey, combining investment in electric mobility with advanced technology and operational excellence.”
This partnership highlights XPO Logistics’ continued leadership in decarbonising supply chains, while underlining PepsiCo’s ongoing investment in sustainable transport infrastructure.
Industry Collaboration Fuelling Change
The success of this initiative has also been enabled by close cooperation across stakeholders. Nicola Dainter-Kemsley, Key Account Manager at Daimler Truck UK, commented: “Working with a partner like XPO Logistics, which shares our ambition to shape the future of sustainable heavy haulage transportation, is an honour. Thanks to the XPO and SAGA Truck and Van teams for making this milestone possible.”
As global brands continue to align with environmental targets, the role of innovative electric trucks like the eActros 600 becomes ever more critical. Mercedes-Benz Trucks remains at the forefront of this transformation—delivering not only the vehicles, but the vision for a cleaner, smarter logistics future.
With powerful partnerships and proven performance, the road ahead is electric.
