Unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, celebrating MG’s centennial anniversary, the new HS petrol and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models exemplify MG’s commitment to exceptional value and innovative features. Enhanced cabin space and refined styling ensure that this sought-after SUV remains a compelling choice for buyers.
MG HS: A New Standard in Value and Performance
Continuing MG’s legacy of offering unparalleled value, the new HS models are priced competitively. The petrol HS SE 1.5T starts at £24,995, while the flagship HS Trophy PHEV is priced from £33,995. Each model is backed by a comprehensive 7-year/80,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty, supported by a robust network of 160 dealers.

Advanced and Efficient Powertrains
The new MG HS offers both petrol and PHEV powertrains. The PHEV pairs a 105kW (142ps) 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 154kW electric motor, achieving 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds. The 24.7kWh battery enables an impressive electric-only range of up to 75 miles, providing significant fuel savings and a 5% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate for UK company car drivers.
The 1.5T petrol engine delivers 125kW (169ps) and 275Nm of torque, reaching 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, with a 7-speed DCT automatic option available.

Sophisticated Styling and Enhanced Space
The new MG HS features a longer wheelbase, refined exterior proportions, and a sleek profile. It is 14mm wider and 45mm longer than the previous model, creating a more athletic silhouette and spacious interior. The new front grille and slimmer headlights enhance its technological theme, while the rear LED taillights and X-shaped light signature add a distinctive touch.
Inside the New HS: Connectivity, Comfort, and Style
The new HS SE and Trophy models prioritize functionality, space, and comfort. They feature dual 12.3-inch high-definition displays: one for infotainment with live navigation, weather updates, Amazon Music access, and smartphone connectivity, and another for the virtual driver display with customizable themes and modes.
The interior boasts premium materials, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and a modern gear shifter. Boot capacity has increased to 507 litres, and improved storage options enhance everyday convenience.
MG HS Range Highlights
The new MG HS includes numerous upgrades, particularly in the comprehensively equipped Trophy model, which features 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, electric 6-way driver’s seat, power tailgate, 360° surround view camera, 8-speaker audio system, wireless smartphone charging, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality for PHEV models.
Safety features have been enhanced with the MG Pilot package, including Active Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and more. DCT models also offer Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Jam Assist.
Available in five exterior colours – White Pearl, Black Pearl, Sterling Silver Metallic, Hampstead Grey Metallic, and Dynamic Red Tri-coat – the new MG HS is priced from £24,995 and is available for immediate order. Petrol models will arrive by the end of July, with PHEV models following by the end of September.
