Leatherhead, July 18th, 2024 – Hyundai Motor UK has unveiled the pricing and specifications for the newly updated IONIQ 5. This refreshed model boasts both exterior and interior enhancements, along with new battery options: a Long Range 84kWh and a Standard Range 63kWh.
Exterior Upgrades:
The new IONIQ 5 has received several exterior updates, including fresh 19” and 20” alloy wheel designs, revamped front and rear bumpers, a redesigned front LED V-garnish, an extended rear spoiler, a rear wiper for improved visibility, and slim Digital Side Mirrors (DSM). The palette now includes two new paint options, Meta Blue Pearl and Ultimate Red, increasing the total to 11 colours. Additionally, a standard battery heating system, battery pre-conditioning, and a heat pump are now included across the range.
Interior Enhancements:
Inside, the IONIQ 5 features a reimagined layout with a sliding centre console, physical climate and heated seat controls, pixel design door armrests, an auto-dimming digital centre mirror, and refreshed seat design and upholstery. A new dark surround for the dual 12.3” audio, visual, and navigation system and drivers instrument cluster reduces reflection.

Trim Levels:
The IONIQ 5 now offers a broader range of trim levels:
- Advance: Available with both Standard Range 63kWh (170PS) and Long Range 84kWh (228PS) rear-wheel-drive powertrains, with a range of up to 354 miles.
- Premium: Builds on the Advance trim with additional features like auto-dimming rear view mirror, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, and a smart electric tailgate.
- N Line and N Line S: Inspired by the IONIQ 5 N, these trims offer a sportier aesthetic with the Long Range 84kWh powertrain available in both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive options, providing a range of up to 320 miles.
- Ultimate: Adds luxury features such as 20” alloy wheels, a BOSE Premium Audio system, Head Up Display, and optional Tech Pack upgrades.
Performance and Efficiency:
The IONIQ 5 utilizes Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and comes standard with an 800V charging system. It supports 350kW ultra-rapid charging, enabling a 10-80% charge in just 18 minutes. The model also supports domestic wall box charging and public 400V high-speed charging, ensuring optimized charge times.
Safety and Technology:
The IONIQ 5 is equipped with advanced safety and convenience features, including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Highway Drive Assist, Lane Follow Assist, Lane Keep Assist, smart cruise control with stop & go, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. The Tech Pack on the Ultimate trim adds features like remote smart park assist and a Surround View Monitor.
Connectivity:
All models come with a 10-year subscription to Bluelink® Lite, offering connected routing, online voice recognition, and over-the-air updates. Additionally, a 6-month complimentary subscription to Bluelink® PLUS and Bluelink® PRO is included, enhancing the connected experience with music streaming and more.
Pricing:
The new IONIQ 5 starts at £39,900 for the Advance Standard Range 63kWh 170PS RWD model. The range extends to the N Line S Long Range 84kWh 325PS AWD model, priced at £55,900. Various optional packages, including special paint finishes and Tech Pack upgrades, are available to customize the vehicle further.
