DAINESE CONTINUES AS THE ISLE OF MAN TT’S OFFICIAL SAFETY PARTNER
The Isle of Man TT races are just under a week away and soon the 37¾ mile course will be packed with road racing fans who’ll watch on while racer and machine battle the unforgiving circuit.
Dainese is now in its seventh year as the Official Safety Partner for the famous road races after signing a two-year contract last year in 2013. The partnership first started in 2008 and has seen Dainese bring a host of VIP racers to the island, including Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Nicky Hayden, Kevin Schwantz and Giacomo Agostini.
The partnership has also helped Dainese develop its air bag system, D-air Racing with its supported racers wearing a suit and collecting valuable data at one of the toughest road races in the world.
Part of the deal also sees the Travelling Marshals fully protect by Dainese as they provide rapid response during the races. For the Marshals having a high level of protection is vital, as they too can reach the same speeds as the racers, while attending to incidents and sweeping the course before and after road closures. Each of the eight Marshals will be fully kitted out with a Dainese one-piece suit, gloves, boots and back protection for the two weeks they are on-call on the island.

It’s an important event to be involved in as a company and has helped with the development and data collection for the D-air Racing, in racing conditions where anything can happen and isn’t on a prepared short circuit. To also be able to provide the Travelling Marshals with their kit once again is vital as they too need good protection when riding and attending incidents.
The six-lap superbike race on Saturday 31 May will again be referred to as the Dainese Superbike race and trackside branding will be present along the legendary mountain course.
Dainese will also be keeping an eye on its supported racers while they battle in a bid to win one of the prestigious races taking place. Manx-born Conor Cummins will be on-board a Honda with the legendary Honda Racing squad, James Hillier will be looking to add another win to his lightweight victory last year with Kawasaki and Guy Martin on-board his Tyco TAS Suzuki as he too looks for his first TT win.
