Milton Keynes, 20 October 2025 – CUPRA KIRO has confirmed that British racing driver Dan Ticktum will continue with the team for the 2025/26 FIA Formula E World Championship, marking his fifth season in the all-electric series and his second with the CUPRA-backed squad.

Ticktum, known for his fiery competitiveness and raw racing instincts, enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign that saw him rise from underdog to frontrunner. His season-defining moments included a maiden podium in Tokyo, a first pole position on home soil in London, and an emphatic victory at the Jakarta E-Prix — his first in Formula E. The performance marked a turning point in his career, establishing him as one of the championship’s most compelling and naturally gifted talents.

Now entering Season 12, Ticktum’s renewal with CUPRA KIRO represents one of the longest-standing driver-team relationships on the grid — a partnership built on shared ambition, mutual respect, and a hunger for continued progress. The team, based at Silverstone, will begin pre-season testing later this month at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, before the lights go out at the São Paulo E-Prix on 6 December.

“I’m back. And I’m happy to be back.”

Reflecting on his renewal, Ticktum spoke with characteristic honesty and determination:

“Season 11 was far more positive than any season before it,” he said. “Last year we faced a big challenge to get everything in the right window as fast as we could, and with limited time, but we achieved that halfway through the season. I’m looking forward to building on that this year, and I think that if we can hit the ground running, we have a car that can be good enough to get more wins. My personal goal is a top five finish in the championship, but overall, I want to really enjoy the environment in the team. I love all of the people in this team, and I’m really looking forward to this season.”

For Ticktum, 2025/26 represents not just another chapter, but a chance to cement his place among Formula E’s elite.

“The easiest decision we’ve had to make”

For Russell O’Hagan, CUPRA KIRO’s Chief Operating Officer, extending Ticktum’s contract was an obvious choice.

“Continuing our relationship with Dan for Season 12 was the easiest decision we’ve had to make as a team,” said O’Hagan. “Since joining us in 2021, we’ve been very fortunate to watch him grow and transform into one of Formula E’s most gifted drivers. From securing his first victory in Jakarta to taking pole in London, Dan’s performances last season proved what we’ve always believed: that he has the makings of a World Champion. He has the drive, the instinct, and the pure talent to be the best, and we’re very proud, and very excited to continue our journey together in Season 12.”

CUPRA Racing confident of more progress ahead

Echoing O’Hagan’s enthusiasm, Xavi Serra, Global Head of CUPRA Racing, emphasised the importance of continuity and momentum:

“We’re very pleased to confirm Dan Ticktum’s renewal with CUPRA KIRO. After a strong and encouraging season last year, it was clear that continuing with Dan was the right move. His performance on track, his ability to adapt, and the connection he’s built with the team have been key factors in our decision. We believe there’s still a lot of potential to unlock together, and we’re confident that this continuity will allow us to keep progressing and fighting for strong results.”

A partnership built on progress

Since entering Formula E, Ticktum has developed into one of the series’ most exciting homegrown prospects. His chemistry with the CUPRA KIRO team has brought out both consistency and confidence — qualities that will be crucial in what promises to be one of the most competitive seasons yet.

As Formula E continues to push the boundaries of electric performance and sustainability, CUPRA KIRO and Ticktum stand ready to take on the challenge — united by ambition, electrified by purpose, and hungry for victory.

The countdown to São Paulo begins.
