Daimler Truck UK Limited and Daimler Truck Financial Services Limited have proudly inaugurated their new head office, marking a significant milestone in their journey.
This transition comes in the wake of establishing Daimler Truck UK Limited, which now serves as the wholesale distributor for Mercedes-Benz Trucks and FUSO Trucks across Great Britain, and for Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Northern Ireland, earlier this year.
The new facility at Willen, Milton Keynes, signifies a major shift for the companies. Previously, operations were housed in Tongwell, alongside the UK headquarters of Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars, Vans, and Financial Services. Now, for the first time, Daimler Truck UK and Daimler Truck Financial Services have a dedicated space of their own.
This modern facility was already partially operational, hosting Daimler Truck UK’s Parts Logistics Centre within its expansive 140,000 sq ft warehouse. With the recent completion of a state-of-the-art office suite, the entire team is now unified under one roof.
A cornerstone of the new headquarters is its commitment to sustainability. The building boasts an impressive 85% BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) rating. Key sustainable features include high ceiling clearance with natural light panels in the warehouse to reduce energy consumption and enhance working conditions, and a rainwater collection system supplying the office washrooms. Looking ahead, the vision includes installing solar panels to support sustainable electric truck charging.
The official opening ceremony was led by Heiko Selzam, Managing Director of Daimler Truck UK, and Nick Andrews, Managing Director of Daimler Truck Financial Services UK. They were joined by distinguished guests from Daimler Truck’s global headquarters in Stuttgart, including Jean Marc Diss, Head of Sales & Marketing, and Florian Schulz, Head of Sales and Customer Services FUSO Europe.
Commenting on the occasion, Heiko Selzam said: “The opening of this site represents the final step in our commitment to focusing entirely on the needs of truck operators and our Dealer network in the UK. Separating our business from the car and van divisions was a complex and challenging task, but it has enabled us to concentrate on our core strength – delivering industry-leading vehicles and a comprehensive ecosystem of support services to more customers than ever before.”
Nick Andrews added: “This new headquarters allows us to work even more closely with our Sales and Aftersales teams to provide a complete range of products to UK truck operators. Our goal is to help find the most cost-efficient solutions to the diverse challenges faced by the transport industry today and in the future.”
