Milton Keynes, 28 November 2025 – CUPRA is set to redefine urban electric mobility with the upcoming launch of the CUPRA Raval in 2026. Tested in pre-series form, this compact electric car offers a glimpse of the brand’s bold vision: a vehicle that blends dynamic performance, cutting-edge technology, and a distinct design ethos tailored to a new generation of drivers.
The CUPRA Raval, showcased in a camouflaged prototype during early test drives, is built on Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform and features front-wheel drive. At just four metres in length, it is compact enough for city life while offering generous interior space and a practical boot, making it equally suitable for longer journeys.
A New Era of the Electric Urban Car Family
The Raval will be the first model launched in the Electric Urban Car Family, a visionary project led from CUPRA’s Martorell base that unites four innovative vehicles from the Volkswagen Group. Production of the CUPRA Raval will begin in the coming months, followed by the Volkswagen ID. Polo, with both models manufactured in Martorell. This initiative aims to make electric mobility more accessible and emotionally engaging, establishing new benchmarks for desirability and performance in Europe.
“The CUPRA Raval embodies everything that CUPRA stands for: driver-first emotion, bold design, and outstanding performance,” said Markus Haupt, CEO of CUPRA. “It’s a car set to shape the next era of electric mobility, making EVs accessible to a new generation.”
Built to Perform
The CUPRA Raval delivers an exceptional driving experience through a sport chassis—15mm lower than the standard platform—finely tuned suspension, progressive steering, and ESC Sport. Adaptive shock absorbers in the Dynamic Chassis Control system provide a balance of comfort and sporty agility, while CUPRA mode stiffens the dampers to reduce body lean and sharpen handling.
The top-tier CUPRA Raval VZ (166kW) model enhances performance further. It features Dinamica Bucket seats, DCC Sport suspension with +5% rigidity, wider track width, ESC OFF mode, 19’’ wheels with 235mm tyres, and an advanced electronic slip differential to optimise torque distribution, traction, and stability. Front and rear disc brakes ensure maximum stopping power.
Dr. Werner Tietz, CUPRA’s VP of Research & Development, emphasizes: “With the arrival of the CUPRA Raval, we’re making a bold statement about what a compact, urban electric vehicle can be. To truly feel the thrill of the Raval, you have to get behind the wheel.”

A Choice of Models for Every Driver
The CUPRA Raval will be available in multiple trims to suit different lifestyles and preferences:
- VZ Extreme (166kW): The ultimate expression of performance, blending power with sustainable innovation, and offering a range of around 400km.
- Dynamic Plus (155kW): Balances driving emotion with comfort, featuring Advanced ADAS, intelligent parking, Matrix LED headlights, bucket seats, and a premium 12-speaker Sennheiser audio system, with a range of approximately 450km.

Entry-level models are expected to start from €26,000*, making the CUPRA Raval an affordable yet thrilling choice for urban EV enthusiasts.
Inspired by Barcelona’s Energy
The name ‘Raval’ is inspired by Barcelona’s vibrant El Raval district, a neighbourhood synonymous with raw energy, movement, and fearless character. The Raval’s design, including the pre-series camouflage vinyl, reflects the district’s dynamic streets, highlighting the car’s urban attitude and distinctive personality.
CUPRA’s Momentum in Electrification
CUPRA recently celebrated one million vehicles produced since its launch in 2018 and delivered almost 250,000 cars in the first nine months of 2025 alone. Fully electric vehicles now account for 84% of the brand’s sales growth, a momentum set to continue with the arrival of the CUPRA Raval.
