Milton Keynes, 8 September 2025 – CUPRA has electrified Munich with the unveiling of the camouflaged CUPRA Raval, offering the world a first glimpse of its upcoming electric urban car at the Volkswagen Group’s exclusive pre-show event for IAA Mobility 2025. Cloaked in a striking vinyl inspired by the street map of Barcelona’s vibrant El Raval district, the car captures both the raw energy of the city and the fearless spirit that defines CUPRA.
Set for its official world premiere and market launch in 2026, the CUPRA Raval will be the first model from the Volkswagen Group’s Electric Urban Car family, a pioneering project that unites four new models across the Brand Group Core. Produced in Martorell, Spain, alongside the forthcoming Volkswagen ID.Polo, this family of compact EVs is set to democratise electric mobility and reshape accessibility for millions across Europe.
“The CUPRA Raval is now shaping our future. Because with it, we’ve brought together everything CUPRA stands for: emotion, striking design, electrifying performance and as always, driver focus,” said Markus Haupt, Interim CEO of CUPRA, at the unveiling. “For us, the Raval is more than a car. It represents a movement—one that strengthens Spain’s role as a hub for electric mobility and delivers accessible, desirable EVs for a new generation of drivers.”
Inspired by Barcelona’s Pulse
The CUPRA Raval doesn’t just carry the name of El Raval—it embodies its essence. The neighbourhood is known for its dynamism, diversity and uncompromising energy, qualities seamlessly translated into the car’s design language and engineering. The camouflage livery revealed in Munich, which visually mapped the Raval’s bustling streets, highlighted the close connection between car and city.
Compact yet characterful, the CUPRA Raval measures just over four metres in length, engineered on Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform with front-wheel drive. Despite its urban proportions, it is designed for much more than city commutes—delivering a balance of striking design, electrifying performance and unconventional attitude. CUPRA aims to prove that an accessible electric car can still be exciting, emotional and fun to drive.
Electrifying Performance, True CUPRA DNA
Every CUPRA Raval version channels the brand’s racing heritage. The sport chassis sits 15mm lower, with precision-tuned suspension, progressive steering for agile handling and ESC Sport for added dynamism.
For those seeking the ultimate urban performance, the flagship CUPRA Raval VZ (166 kW) goes even further. Highlights include:
- CUPBucket sport seats
- DCC Sport suspension
- ESC OFF mode for maximum control
- 19-inch wheels with 235mm wide tyres
- VAQ electronic slip differential
This combination ensures that the VZ variant delivers an experience well beyond the typical urban EV, transforming every journey into an occasion.

Advanced Technology, Everyday Usability
Beyond its performance credentials, the CUPRA Raval also introduces premium technology into the electric urban segment. Available with two battery sizes and several output stages, the car offers flexibility to meet diverse customer needs.
Drivers will benefit from advanced assistance systems, including:
- Travel Assist with lane-change and traffic light recognition

Standard DC fast charging further underlines the Raval’s practicality, ensuring that it fits seamlessly into daily life while delivering excitement behind the wheel.

The launch of the CUPRA Raval in 2026 coincides with the brand’s eighth anniversary and the debut of its eighth model, marking a symbolic milestone as CUPRA approaches one million deliveries worldwide. With a growing global fanbase and a reputation for challenging convention, CUPRA is positioning the Raval not simply as a car, but as a cultural statement—rooted in Barcelona, made for Europe, and designed to ignite passion wherever it goes.
