This marks a significant milestone in the brand’s remarkable journey, which has seen it sell over 750,000 vehicles globally since its launch in 2018.

Currently in preliminary talks with Penske Automotive Group, a leader in automotive retail with deep ties to the Volkswagen Group, CUPRA is exploring a partnership that will pave the way for its U.S. debut by the end of the decade.

A Brand Redefining Automotive Norms
CUPRA has positioned itself as a challenger brand, straddling the mass and premium segments to cater to a new generation of drivers seeking innovation, performance, and individuality. From its cutting-edge designs to its portfolio of internal combustion engine (ICE), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and battery-electric vehicles (BEV), CUPRA embodies a spirit of rebellion against the ordinary.

To spearhead this bold expansion, CUPRA has appointed Bernhard Bauer, the former Managing Director of CUPRA Germany, as the Managing Director of CUPRA USA. His expertise will be instrumental in establishing the brand’s presence in key U.S. states that align with CUPRA’s forward-thinking ethos.

CUPRA’s product lineup for the U.S. market is expected to include a mix of ICE, PHEV, and BEV models, leveraging Volkswagen Group’s production capabilities in North America. Details regarding the specific models and headquarters location will be announced in due course.
