Nissan-Nampo

Rosslyn, South Africa, 7 MAY 2015 – The farming community will have several reasons to visit stands 125 and 126 at this year’s Nampo Harvest Day show in Bothaville.

The stands have been home to Nissan South Africa for the past 15 years and will display a wide range of Nissan bakkies, vans and sport utility vehicles this year. The large Nissan display is located next to the Sampie Hall and will include the new Nissan X-Trail and Qashqai, the refreshed Juke and the entire range of Nissan bakkies, which include the NP200, NP300 Hardbody, Navara and Patrol Pickup.

Taking pride of place will be the Nissan Patrol 3.0 TD GL 4×4, which now features a significant upgrade in luxury specifications. This will be the first public viewing of the Patrol, which will be available in the Dealer network shortly after the show.

Wide range of Nissan Commercial Vehicles on display

One of the many reasons for Nissan’s success in the agricultural sector is its wide range of bakkies and other commercial vehicles. Offering the half tonne NP200, the trusty NP300 with a range of warranty-approved Agri accessories, the powerful Navara and the go-anywhere Patrol Pickup, Nissan can proudly lay claim to the largest selection of bakkies in South Africa.

At the 2015 Nampo show, Nissan will exhibit accessorised versions of each of its bakkies. Highlights include an NP300 Hardbody with Agri Pack, including cattle rails, bucket seats, a front bush bar, side steps, spot lights and air conditioning, to name but a few.

The Navara is on display in KingKab and double cab and feature an off-road type nudge bar, a full suspension kit, spot lights and a snorkel among its list of accessories, and the beastly Patrol Pickup is kitted out with rock sliders, all terrain tyres, cattle rails and a front-mounted winch. These accessories are all available from Nissan dealers, which means that none of the products will negatively affect the bakkie’s warranty.

Joining the range of bakkies are three Nissan vans, which have all found favour with farmers across the country. The NV200 will be on display in panel van and seven seat derivatives, while the cavernous NV350 Panel Van with its 9.2 cubic metres of storage space will be on hand to show how a smart design has made every possible inch of storage space available in this work-horse.

Nissan on Patrol

Last year, visitors to the Nampo show queued to experience the brand new Patrol Pickup on the Nampo off road track. Given its popularity, the Patrol Pickup will again be on hand, accompanied by the Navara, while the Patrol Station Wagon in 3.0 TD GL will show its steel on a mobile 4×4 track at Nissan’s stand.

The 3.0 TD GL Patrol Station Wagon shares the DNA of the Pickup, which is clear from its 700 mm fording depth and its ability to tackle 39 degree inclines. The new model trumps its Pickup sibling with creature comforts such as leather seats and a sunroof.

“We are very proud of the Patrol Station Wagon 3.0 TD GL 4×4. This model not only has more luxury features than other technical off roaders, but its 6-year or 150 000 km warranty is double that of its nearest competitor,” says Konstantin von Vieregge, General Manager of Product Marketing at Nissan South Africa.

Nissan strengthens ties with Agri Securitas Fund at Nampo

Visitors to the Nissan stand at this popular Free State show will also be able to learn more about the company’s involvement in the Agri Securitas Trust Fund and its plans for future support of the farming community.

The Agri Securitas Trust Fund was established in 1999 and is aimed at supporting community safety projects in South Africa’s farming districts. Nissan donates a portion of the income from every light commercial vehicle sold in the agricultural sector to this fund. To date, over 100 community safety projects have benefited from the funds collected by the Agri Securitas Trust Fund.

“If you study our 54-year history, you will notice that it is closely intertwined with the farming community, and through the Agri Securitas Fund and other commercial projects such as our continued support of the annual SA Mutton Merino auction we would like to show our support and gratitude,” says Mike Whitfield, Managing Director of Nissan South Africa.

The Nampo Harvest Day show opens on Tuesday, 12 May and ends on Friday, 15 May.
