On July 22, 2014 Google announced the opening of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games on their New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, India, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, United Kingdom and Canada homepages.
The Commonwealth Games 2014 is hosted by Scotland in Glasgow from the 23rd of July 2014 to the 3rd of August 2014. The official name for the Commonwealth Games 2014 is the XX Commonwealth games. The Commonwealth Games 2014 official motto is “People, Place, Passion”.
At the Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth games there will be 71 Nations participating in the games with an estimated 4900 athletes participating in their individual events. The opening ceremony is taking place on the 23rd of July 2014 at the Celtic Park Stadium and the games end on the 3rd of August 2014 at the Hampden Park stadium.
Nigeria and Scotland competed earlier for the hosting of the event, whereby Scotland won to host the Commonwealth Games 2014.
