Founder and organizer Paulo Calisto reflects on the decision: “Last year’s record-breaking attendance propelled us towards this pivotal moment. Extending to a weekend format was a natural progression, enhancing the experience for exhibitors, organizers, and visitors alike.”
Classic car owners will showcase their beloved vehicles along the stadium access road at Gate 5, enjoying free admission for the driver and one passenger. Participants can opt to display their cars on either or both days, without overnight stay at Nasrec grounds.
Meanwhile, the popular German vs Jap display, managed by the Southside Crew, will also span two days. Entrants for this segment must pre-register, with all cars securely housed at Nasrec from July 3rd to July 4th, ensuring a seamless experience throughout the event.
Paulo Calisto emphasizes continuity for traditional classics: “We maintain the drive-and-show tradition for cars over 40 years old. These timeless beauties will grace the area between Gate 5 and Hall 5, continuing our rich heritage.”
The show’s allure lies in its diverse lineup, boasting a blend of American, European, and British classics. This year, enthusiasts can anticipate double the spectacle, with options to attend on either Saturday or Sunday.
Renowned for its showcase of top-tier American automobiles since 2012, The Classic Car Show spotlights icons from the flamboyant ’50s fins to the robust ’60s muscle cars. Many debut builds have wowed crowds over the years, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship.
Celebrating its 60th anniversary, the Ford Mustang headlines the muscle car category, alongside stalwarts like the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Charger. Notable mentions include Pontiac’s GTO and Firebird, revered among aficionados.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, attendees can relish in the timeless charm of Volkswagen Kombis and Beetles spanning from the ’50s to the late ’70s. The iconic Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Cortina, a perennial favorite, promise nostalgic appeal.

The German vs Jap display elevates this year’s event with its revamped format. Dawood Hoosein of Southside Crew shares: “We’re raising the bar for German vs Jap, focusing on pre-registered, top-tier entries housed in Hall 5. Our aim is to achieve international standards, building on last year’s overwhelming success.”
Featuring modern classics from Germany and Japan, the display includes a diverse array from Volkswagen Polos and Golfs to Toyota Corollas and Hondas. Upscale renditions of Porsche, Subaru, and Toyota Supra underscore enthusiasts’ passion and investment.
A highlight of the display is the Limbo competition, challenging cars to navigate beneath an adjustable boom, showcasing the lowest ride-height prowess. This spectacle, held across both show days, celebrates the artistry of low-riding culture.
Many contenders utilize adjustable air suspension systems for show-stopping low stances, exemplified by attractions like the Porsche 911 and the coveted Jamex Golf two-door.
Sunday’s lineup includes the German vs Jap dyno competition, pushing modified cars to test their horsepower limits. Expectations soar with top contenders projected to exceed 400 kW, highlighting engineering prowess and innovation.
The Classic Car Show and its German vs Jap segment celebrate Gauteng’s burgeoning classic and modified car communities. Fueling the festivities are culinary delights, vendor treasures, and exhilarating helicopter rides, promising a day of automotive splendor.
