CITROËN’S DOUBLE VAN FLEET WORLD HONOURS SUCCESS – NEMO IS BEST LIGHT VAN & CITROËN LCVS GAIN SECURITY AWARD

Citroen Nemo

The Citroën Nemo has won the Best Light Van Award in the 2012 Van Fleet World Honours. The prestigious Van Fleet World Honours awards are presented annually to those vehicle manufacturers, service providers and individuals who have, in the opinion of the judges, achieved the highest possible level of excellence in their sector.

At the awards ceremony in London earlier today, John Kendall, Editor of Van Fleet World and chairman of the Van Fleet World Honours judging panel, commented that the Citroën Nemo was ideally suited to the current economic climate.  He said: “With a 2.8m3 capacity body, a 660kg payload and a frugal 1.3 litre diesel engine, it suits many pockets and purposes, even if few will match the 80+mpg we’ve recorded on the MPG Marathon for the past few years.”

Citroën LCVs also claimed the Security Award in the 2012 Van Fleet World Honours. John Kendall, commenting again on Citroën’s success, said: “Enormous strides have been made to improve LCV security. If you don’t have the keys, driving a modern van away is a challenge. However, vans will always be vulnerable if drivers let their guard down for a moment, giving a thief the window of opportunity needed. Then the problem is finding a stolen vehicle, so Citroën includes Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking on all new Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay panel vans, along with the standard Trafficmaster Smartnav system.”

Citroen Security Award

Scott Michael, Citroën’s Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager, commented: “Citroën LCVs are having a very successful year. Today’s Van Fleet World Honours acclaim for the Citroën LCV range is a significant independent endorsement. Citroën LCV sales to small and medium enterprises are showing exceptional growth, complementing our strong sales performance with larger fleets. These awards will further build our reputation within these important markets.”
