Midrand, 28 November 2024 – Citroën South Africa proudly unveils the latest iteration of its popular C3 hatchback, a model that continues to redefine value, style, and comfort in the compact car segment. The refreshed Citroën C3 now offers enhanced safety features, upgraded comfort specifications, and, for the first time, the option of a high-performance six-speed automatic transmission.

Available at dealerships nationwide, the new C3 starts at an enticing R249,900, making it a compelling choice for South African drivers seeking a blend of premium features and affordability.

Elevating Comfort and Design

The new Citroën C3 introduces a suite of comfort-focused enhancements aimed at enriching the driving experience. Select trims now include automatic air conditioning, auto-folding rear-view mirrors, and foldable roof grab handles, adding both convenience and sophistication.

The exterior design also sees functional upgrades, with LED Vision projector headlamps and integrated turn indicators in the mirrors, combining aesthetic appeal with improved visibility for safer night driving.

Safety First: Comprehensive Protection Across the Range

Safety remains a priority in the new C3, with all variants equipped with a robust set of protective features. Standard across the range are:

  • Six airbags
  • Three-point seatbelts
  • ISOFIX child seat anchors
  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
  • Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) (in automatic models)

These features underline Citroën’s commitment to passenger safety, ensuring confidence behind the wheel.

A Smoother, More Dynamic Drive

For the first time, the Citroën C3 is available with a six-speed automatic transmission, paired with the brand’s acclaimed 1.2-litre Turbocharged PureTech engine. Delivering 81kW of power and 205Nm of torque from as low as 1,750 rpm, this combination offers a refined driving experience that is both powerful and fuel-efficient. Whether navigating bustling city streets or cruising on the highway, the new automatic transmission ensures a smooth, responsive journey.

Uncompromised Comfort: Signature Citroën Ride Quality

The C3 continues to impress with its Advanced Comfort suspension system, which delivers the “Flying Carpet Effect” that Citroën is renowned for, absorbing road imperfections for an unmatched ride quality. Inside, the spacious cabin, bolstered by a 2,540mm wheelbase, ensures ample legroom and headspace for passengers.

The standout 10-inch infotainment system remains a key feature, offering wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® for seamless connectivity. Additional features like dual-split LED DRLs, a compact 360mm steering wheel for enhanced manoeuvrability, and thoughtful storage solutions make the C3 a practical yet stylish option.

Peace of Mind Comes Standard

Every Citroën C3 comes with a 2-year/30,000km service plan and a 5-year/100,000km warranty, providing long-term reliability and peace of mind for owners.

An Award-Winning Performer

Recognised as the “Biggest Achiever of the Year” by naamsa’s Accelerator Awards, the Citroën C3 has cemented its place as one of South Africa’s fastest-growing passenger cars. Its strong market performance reflects its exceptional value, innovative features, and timeless design.
