Zwartkop, Pretoria – Chrysler South Africa (Pty) Ltd will once again be showing off the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicle brands at Africa’s premier internationally accredited automotive showcase at NASREC from the 30th October until 9th November 2008. The Johannesburg International Motor Show, formerly Auto Africa, is now in its 10th year and has taken place every second year since 1998. Chrysler, Jeep and, most recently Dodge, have been represented at each of these shows.
2008 will be even more special for Chrysler SA as it marks the first year we will showcase our entire range of products as an independent non-OEM importer.
The Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge products will be on display in the same position as 2006 in Hall 6 on a prominent stand that covers more than 1 000m2.
Chrysler will display the new Grand Voyager, a vehicle that has been 25 years in the making and one that created the so-called Mini-van segment a quarter of a century ago. Also on display by the brand will be the outrageous 300C 6.1l Hemi SRT8, the practical 300C 5.7l V8 Touring and the elegant Sebring 2.7l Convertible. In keeping with the design ethos of the vehicles, the stand will exude the typical art-deco design elements that have come to be associated with the brand.
The Jeep display will merge seamlessly with its stable-mate’s design and offer the largest display from the Chrysler group at the show. With a mixture of rugged, textured, yet sophisticated design elements, Jeep will display the all-Jeep new Cherokee, the Compass and Patriot with redesigned interiors, the Grand Cherokee in both Overland and SRT8 derivatives as well as the central point of the stand featuring the iconic Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in a typical setting flanked by its larger sibling the Wrangler Unlimted. The final offering from Jeep will be the Commander, one of three seven-seater offerings from Chrysler.
Not to be outdone by its sister brands, the relative new-comer to the Chrysler South Africa family, Dodge, will display its range of vehicles in a radical setting all of their own. Leading the Chrysler and Jeep stands out into the body of the show; Dodge will have the new Journey, the ultra-macho Nitro and the ever-visible Caliber on display along with a modified Caliber featuring styling elements from Chrysler’s own in-house parts and accessories division MOPAR.
Johannesburg International Motor Show 2008 promises to offer the motoring public and enthusiastic petrol heads a memorable day amongst the industry’s finest vehicles, and is sure to outshine all previous years.
