In this scenario, a deformable barrier, mounted on a trolley, is driven into the side of the vehicle at a speed of 60 km/h. The Tiggo 9 excelled in this evaluation, demonstrating impressive passenger safety. A side-impact dummy representing an average adult male was placed in the driver’s seat, while additional child dummies were secured in child restraint systems in the rear seats. The SUV’s robust structure, including its A-, B-, and C-pillars, remained intact, preserving crucial survival space for all occupants. Notably, the doors on the unimpacted side could be opened without difficulty, and seatbelts could be unfastened smoothly, allowing for an efficient and safe exit post-collision.
