Dartford, Monday, 8 September 2025 – Caterham Cars is once again making waves in the high-performance automotive arena with the exhibition of its groundbreaking Project V electric sports coupé prototype at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. Partnering with Taiwanese technology innovator XING Mobility Inc., Caterham will highlight the vehicle’s IMMERSIO™ Cell-to-Pack (CTP) immersion-cooled battery system, setting a new benchmark for thermal management, safety, and energy efficiency in electric sports cars.
Project V, Caterham’s first lightweight EV sports coupé, perfectly blends the brand’s core DNA – simplicity, agility, and driver-focused fun – with pioneering technology. The IMMERSIO™ CTP system represents one of the most advanced battery architectures in the high-performance electric vehicle (EV) sector. Unlike conventional battery systems, XING Mobility’s immersion-cooling technology submerges each cell in a dielectric liquid, ensuring rapid and uniform heat dissipation. The result is unparalleled thermal stability, exceptional energy density, and optimized safety – all crucial for a performance-oriented EV.
This public appearance in Munich marks Project V’s first major showcase since January 2025 at the Tokyo Auto Salon. The prototype was first unveiled globally at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2023 and later returned to Tokyo in January 2024 and 2025, cementing its status as a key player in the electric sports car landscape.

Since announcing its collaboration with XING Mobility in December 2024, Caterham has demonstrated a commitment to delivering an EV that is not only electrifying in performance but also technologically sophisticated. The IMMERSIO™ CTP battery is a testament to XING Mobility’s leadership in immersion-cooled battery innovation, a company that has been pioneering advanced thermal management solutions since its founding in 2015.
Project V is the result of an international engineering collaboration, with key contributions from TOKYO R&D Co., Ltd. and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., combining lightweight construction with advanced EV powertrain technology. By integrating XING Mobility’s immersion-cooled battery, Caterham ensures that the Project V retains the brand’s hallmark of nimble handling and driver engagement, while harnessing the performance advantages of a modern electric powertrain.
As Caterham continues to chart its course in the EV landscape, Project V stands as a compelling demonstration of what the brand calls “electric driving, uncompromised.” Visitors to IAA Mobility 2025 will have a rare opportunity to experience the confluence of lightweight British sports car craftsmanship and cutting-edge immersion-cooled battery technology, highlighting the next frontier of high-performance electric motoring.
