Europe, October 2025 – BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new-energy vehicles, has unveiled its latest innovation for European drivers: the ATTO 2 DM-i, a compact SUV that promises the exhilaration of electric driving with the practicality of a long-range hybrid. Powered by BYD’s Super Hybrid with DM technology, this model sets a new benchmark in efficiency, versatility, and performance in its class.
Building on the success of the SEAL U DM-i, BYD’s best-selling plug-in hybrid across key European markets, the ATTO 2 DM-i offers an impressive 90km of pure electric range – more than enough for most daily commutes. For longer journeys, the intelligent Dual Mode-intelligent (DM-i) powertrain optimises hybrid efficiency, allowing the SUV to cover up to 1,020km on a combined charge of battery and petrol – comfortably surpassing not only hybrid competitors but also conventional combustion-engine SUVs.
Two distinct versions of the ATTO 2 DM-i will be offered, catering to different driving preferences. Buyers can choose between battery sizes, EV and overall range, power outputs, and performance levels. Subtle design refinements differentiate the DM-i from the pure-electric ATTO 2, including a larger central grille, redesigned lower front bumper elements, the removal of front wing side vents, and discreet tailgate badging. A new exterior colour, Midnight Blue, will also be exclusive to the DM-i variant.
The European debut of the ATTO 2 DM-i takes place this week at Fleet Europe Days in Luxembourg, ahead of a wider media introduction in November. Pre-sales are set to open shortly, with first deliveries expected in Q1 2026.
