The centerpiece of BYD’s exhibit at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles is the European debut of the SEALION 7, a mid-size, pure-electric SUV tailored to the needs of the European market. This dynamic addition to BYD’s portfolio is the eighth new-energy vehicle (BEV and PHEV) launched by the company in Europe, following the success of models like the DOLPHIN, SEAL, and SEAL U.
With a focus on performance, practicality, and advanced technology, the SEALION 7 is set to impress European customers. Its four-wheel-drive variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, making it an ideal choice for those seeking both speed and sustainability. Equipped with BYD’s revolutionary Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction, the SEALION 7 also boasts rapid charging speeds of up to 230 kW, ensuring long-distance journeys are as convenient as they are eco-friendly.
Expanding BYD’s Presence in the French Market
In addition to the SEALION 7, BYD’s stand at the Paris Motor Show is offering French customers a glimpse of the full breadth of the brand’s new-energy range. The luxury YANGWANG U8 SUV makes its French debut, accompanied by other models that demonstrate BYD’s technological prowess, such as the DOLPHIN, an urban-focused, fully electric vehicle, and the ATTO 3, which features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology capable of powering external devices.
The SEALION 7 is just one highlight among many. Visitors can also explore the SEAL, a sleek, high-tech electric sedan, and the SEAL U DM-i, BYD’s first European plug-in hybrid SUV, which offers up to 1,080 km of range. These models, alongside others on display, reflect the brand’s expansive product lineup and its ongoing commitment to providing diverse, sustainable transportation solutions to European customers.

Commenting on this growth, BYD’s European Managing Director, Michael Shu, remarked: “In 2022, BYD made our brand debut for Europe in Paris. Now, just two years later, we have eight models to offer.” He further emphasized the SEALION 7’s appeal, noting that “Our customers have been showing great interest in high-performance SUVs, so today, the SEALION 7 comes to Paris… It is equipped with the world’s highest-speed electric motor in mass production, with a speed of 23,000 RPM and 400 revolutions per second.”
