All-new models including the Honda e:Ny1 and BYD Seal wowed the crowds on and around the Best Cars of the Year (Best COTY) stand at The British Motor Show this month.
Also displayed on the Best COTY exhibit were several other just-launched cars – the BYD Atto 3, Hyundai Kona and McLaren Artura which, like the Seal and e:Ny1 are now official contenders for the overall New Car World Champion trophy and other Best Cars of the Year titles in 2024.
The unique, unbiased, unaffiliated panel of expert Best COTY judges from across the continents will select, evaluate then vote for these and other 2024 nominees in the weeks and months ahead.
Separately, via the orange ‘VOTE’ button on the BestCarsoftheYear.com website, visitors to The British Motor Show and other members of the public in the UK and overseas have already started voting for what they consider to be the models worthy of official ‘Best Cars’ status next year. They will continue to cast their votes until March 31, 2024.

The Best COTY stand at The British Motor Show, Farnborough also celebrated and displayed some of the reigning (2023) New Car World Champions. Among them were the VW ID. Buzz (voted outright winner of the Best Car of the Year title in ‘23), the MG4 (Best Affordable Electric Car of the Year) and Genesis Motor LLC of Korea (Best Car Company of the Year).
Official judging panel members who attended the Best Cars of the Year exhibit at the show included Mike Brewer (Wheeler Dealers), Michael De Sousa Macedo (Sporting Bears Motor Club), Andy Entwistle (The British Motor Show CEO), Peter Lyon (Forbes Japan & Carlist.com), Ray Massey (Daily Mail & reigning Newspress Automotive Consumer Journalist of the Year), Mike Rutherford (Auto Express), Tim Shaw (Car S.O.S), Paul Swift (Precision Driving Ltd & multiple world record holder) and Fuzz Townshend (Car S.O.S).
