At a grand gala function held at the Sandton City Convention Centre on Friday, May 24, 2024, Vredendal’s Brand Nissan dealership was awarded the prestigious title of Nissan Dealer of the Year for South Africa.
The event marked the first-ever continental awards ceremony hosted by Nissan in South Africa, bringing together partners from across its African and South African networks. It was a true celebration of Nissan’s local legacy and continental presence, according to Nissan Africa Managing Director, Sherief Eldessouky.
Other South African finalists for the Dealer of the Year award included Morgan Nissan Lydenburg, which won the Small Dealer of the Year category; BB Mount Fuji (Medium Dealer); NTT Nissan Klerksdorp (Large Dealer); and NTT Nissan Bloemfontein, which was recognized as Mega Dealer of the Year. What made Brand Nissan’s accomplishment even more special was that the Vredendal-based dealership had previously won the Very Small Dealer of the Year category.
The gala event, which concluded the annual Nissan Africa Conference, honored a range of top performers. These included awards for Best Nissan Finance Dealer and Best Nissan Customer Satisfaction in Sales and Service, the latter of which was won by Algoa Nissan in South Africa. Additional awards recognized excellence in New Vehicle Sales, Fleet Sales, After Sales and Service, as well as individual accolades for the top salespeople across various categories of Nissan’s key models.
Nissan’s success, Eldessouky noted, stems from having the right vehicles for the market, supported by exceptional people. The gala provided a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge these outstanding individuals and organizations, stated Nissan South Africa and Independent Markets Africa Managing Director, Maciej Klenkiewicz.
“From South Africa, we learn that we are because of others. In Africa, we say if we want to go fast, we go alone, but if we want to go far, we go together. Friday night reflected both these concepts. We are a company made up of incredible people with an incredible legacy spanning more than 60 years.
