The new Mercedes-Maybach represents the absolute pinnacle of state-of-the-art automotive engineering. Nonetheless, even this luxury sedan offers room for individual refinement, which BRABUS realizes with a select team of the best engineers, designers, technicians and master artisans.

The BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine provides the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 with an enormous rated power output of 662 kW / 900 HP (887 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft). The top speed is in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).

To match the extreme performance of the luxury liner, the appearance of the four-seat car receives some sporty-elegant emphasis with BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement components and BRABUS Monoblock “PLATINUM EDITION” 21-inch forged wheels.

Another BRABUS domain is exclusive interior design. The company upholstery shop creates exquisite interiors from the finest leather, Alcantara, precious wood and carbon in any desired color. BRABUS presents an innovative in-car business concept centered on a Microsoft Surface tablet computer at the DUBAI INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW 2015. It answers the calls of Mercedes-Maybach owners looking to use their luxury liner also as an office, movie theater or concert hall on wheels.

The Mercedes-Maybach S 600 comes off the factory line with a 12-cylinder twin-turbo engine producing 390 kW / 530 HP (523 bhp) and is thus anything but underpowered. However, powered by the BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine, the luxury liner attains a performance level previously the exclusive domain of the world’s most powerful super sports cars.

To this end, the company high-tech engine shop employs the tried and proven principle of increasing the engine’s displacement. The installation of a custom BRABUS billet crankshaft with longer stroke in concert with a larger cylinder bore, matching forged pistons and precision-balanced connecting rods increases the displacement from 6.0 to 6.3 liters (366 to 384 cu in).

Extensive modifications to the engine peripherals are also imperative to achieve the desired level of high performance. The two production turbos are replaced with turbochargers that have larger compressor units and larger turbines, which are adapted to the V12 engine with the help of special exhaust manifolds. In addition, the conversion includes down pipes with a diameter of 80 millimeters (3.1 in), free-flow metal catalysts and a stainless-steel BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with actively controlled butterfly valve.

Numerous modifications were also made on the intake side to ensure the engine’s optimized air supply. The carbon BRABUS 900 intake module, which draws its air through an air duct in the hood directly from the redesigned radiator grille, is immediately identifiable. The new intake manifold includes a special air filter box with larger cross-section and special filters as well as “Gold Heat Reflection” sheathing for lowering the temperature.

Newly programmed mapping for injection, boost pressure control and ignition coordinate the perfect interaction of all high-performance components and modifications. The result is not only maximum power, but also compliance with the strict limits set by the current EURO VI emissions standards.

After the conversion, the V12 engine, which is operated exclusively with high-tech motor oil from MOTUL, produces a peak power of 662 kW / 900 HP (887 bhp) at a low 5,500 rpm and a gigantic peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) at 4,200 rpm.

Despite a gross vehicle weight of more than 2.8 tons, the BRABUS supercar based on the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 delivers a performance usually only achieved by a few full-blooded super sports cars: Powered by the BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo engine, the four-seat car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds. The top speed is in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).

Of course, the extensive BRABUS engine tuning program also includes an appropriate performance upgrade for the S 500 version of the Mercedes-Maybach. After the installation of the BRABUS B50-540 performance upgrade, the twin-turbo 4.7-liter V8 engine produces an additional 62 kW / 85 HP (83 bhp) of power and an extra 120 Nm (88 lb-ft) of torque.

In order to make safe use of the tremendous performance of the tuned luxury sedan and to give the vehicle an even more dynamic visual touch, the BRABUS suspension engineers developed tailor-made wheels. They designed the 21-inch BRABUS Monoblock VI evo, Monoblock F and Monoblock R “PLATINUM EDITION” forged wheels specifically for the Mercedes-Maybach. The BRABUS Monoblock Y “PLATINUM EDITION” wheels, likewise manufactured using state-of-the-art forging technology, are a brand-new addition.

The high-tech wheels make full use of the available space in the wheel wells of the Maybach in sizes 9Jx21 at the front and 10.5×21 at the rear. BRABUS technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA supply the matching high-performance tires of sizes 255/35 ZR 21 on the front axle and 295/30 ZR 21 at the rear.

In addition, BRABUS offers a 22-inch Monoblock G wheel for the top-of-the-line models of the S-Class.

To enhance the high level of driving dynamics of the high-performance luxury sedan further still, BRABUS developed a special module for the MAGIC BODY CONTROL suspension of the Mercedes-Maybach. It lowers the ride height of the vehicle by about 25 millimeters (1.0 in) without compromising the outstanding ride quality.

The sporty-elegant BRABUS look for the Mercedes-Maybach, which is almost 21 centimeters (8.3 in) longer than the long-wheelbase version of the current S-Class, is rounded off with aerodynamic-enhancement components, which were developed for the current S-Class in the wind tunnel and are manufactured in OEM quality from PUR.

The BRABUS front bumper replaces the production bumper in its entirety and lends the sedan an even more distinctive face. The integrated front spoiler reduces aerodynamic lift on the front axle at high speeds, further improving handling stability. The large air intakes in the BRABUS bumper optimize the supply of fresh air to radiators, engine and front brakes. To give the supercar an even more impressive appearance, the BRABUS designers developed a special and particularly striking radiator grille for the Mercedes-Maybach models.

The rear is upgraded with the BRABUS rear bumper. Its integrated diffuser features tailor-made cutouts for the four chrome-plated tailpipes of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system. The exhaust has actively controlled butterfly valves to allow the driver to manage the exhaust note at the push of a button on the steering wheel. Drivers can choose between operating their luxury sedan in a subtle and quiet “coming home” mode and enjoying a markedly powerful engine sound in the “sport” position.

Customizing the interior to owner preferences is yet another particular BRABUS specialty. The company upholstery shop creates perfectly finished BRABUS fine leather interiors tailored to the requests of the vehicle owner in every detail. This includes a limitless variety of types of leather and Alcantara in any desired color, which can be finished in any desired upholstery design. Just as individual is the range of wood or carbon inlays, which are also available in any desired color and with a variety of surface finishes. The BRABUS 400-km/h speedometer (250 mph) matches the performance of the BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine.

The BRABUS show car for the Dubai show sports an especially exquisite BRABUS ‘Masterpiece’ all-leather interior created by the company upholstery shop in a particularly elegant color combination of cream and black. For this purpose, they selected an especially strong yet supple type of leather that is significantly thicker than conventional automotive leathers and consequently has a unique touch and feel. Loving details, such as the piping made from perforated leather, further boost this effect.

BRABUS is one of the pioneers in the development of innovative, functional and stylishly integrated business and multimedia systems for cars. The BRABUS in-car IT experts used this unrivalled knowledge to develop an innovative business and entertainment concept that was integrated into the Mercedes-Maybach in equally perfect and harmonious fashion.

As part of the interior refinement, BRABUS fitted a center console custom-developed for the sedan with extra-long wheelbase between the two individual rear seats. This component houses two power-retractable tables that are perfect for working with or without a tablet computer.

Tablet computer? In the case of the Microsoft Surface, this term wholeheartedly applies. The BRABUS 900 for the DUBAI INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW 2015 is equipped with a business system, whose “brain” consists of two Microsoft Surface computers. When not in use, they are stored and recharged safely and hidden almost entirely from view in docking stations inside the console.

The advantage of this solution is obvious: The Surface computers do not require inconvenient acclimation when the owner of the luxury liner uses computers running Microsoft programs at home or at the office. Furthermore, one of the two Surface computers is integrated into the on-board electronics. As a result, its audio and video signals are reproduced by the standard hi-fi system and the screens integrated into the backs of the front seats. Optionally, a large retractable LCD screen also controlled from the table computer can be integrated into the headliner.

Both computers can be connected to the Internet via a 4G high-speed router. As a result, they not only keep the passengers abreast of the latest world news, but also allow using streaming services and thus offer a virtually limitless variety of music, films and TV programs.

Of course, BRABUS also offers its customers business and multimedia systems based on Apple and Android technology.

The BRABUS 900 based on the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 can be built to order as a complete car. Customers who already own a Mercedes-Maybach S 600 can have their own luxury sedan converted to this level all at once or gradually.

Mercedes-Maybach S 600 with BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine: city 17.1 l/100 km, highway 8.6 l/100 km, combined: 11.9 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 279 g/km, efficiency class F.
