BMW Group has once again proven its commitment to innovation and design excellence. The iconic premium brand has unveiled exciting new trim options and enhanced personalisation across its range, while also garnering top accolades at industry awards. With the launch of the new BMW iX1 and iX2 Shadow Edition, expanded exterior paint choices for the BMW X3 M50 xDrive and BMW Z4 M40i, and breakthrough in-car technology earning the Best Car Tech award from T3, BMW is setting new benchmarks in the premium automotive market.
New Shadow Edition for BMW iX1 and iX2: A Fresh Take on Electric SAVs
The most compact members of the all-electric BMW SAV lineup, the iX1 and iX2, are now available in the striking new Shadow Edition. Designed to offer enhanced style and standard equipment, this trim option sits just above the M Sport specification. For instance, while the BMW iX2 already benefits from 19-inch alloy wheels as standard, the iX1 in its Shadow Edition is now also equipped with these larger wheels, along with red M Sport brake callipers, Shadow Line Adaptive LED headlights, and additional M Sport Pro Package styling features. This move not only underlines BMW’s dedication to aesthetic refinement but also offers customers a compelling blend of performance, style, and value.
Elevated Personalisation: Expanded Paint Options for BMW X3 M50 xDrive and BMW Z4 M40i
Personalisation has always been at the heart of BMW’s appeal. The BMW X3 M50 xDrive, known for its potent six-cylinder inline petrol engine and dynamic performance, is now available with an extended palette of exterior paint finishes. Starting from April, customers can choose from an impressive 490 BMW Individual paint colours, featuring standout shades like Sao Paulo Yellow, Daytona Violet, and Frozen Black.
Similarly, the BMW Z4 M40i with Handschalter Pack, previously limited to a singular finish of Frozen Deep Green with Cognac upholstery, now offers a selection of seven exterior paint options, including Skycraper Grey, Thundernight Purple, and San Francisco Red. In addition to these fresh exterior hues, the roadster’s cabin can be further customised with four new interior upholstery choices, ensuring that every detail reflects the owner’s personal style.

T3 Award: Celebrating the Revolutionary BMW Panoramic Vision
At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, T3 recognised BMW’s pioneering in-car technology by awarding the Best Car Tech accolade to the BMW Panoramic Vision. This innovative feature is a key component of the next-generation BMW iDrive system, powered by the advanced Operating System X. The Panoramic Vision is an industry-first head-up display concept that projects essential driving information across the lower portion of the windscreen, ensuring that drivers have immediate access to crucial data without ever taking their eyes off the road.
T3 Editor-in-Chief Mat Gallagher enthused, “The highlight is the Panoramic Vision, a thin projected screen that sits under the windscreen, providing a wealth of information that is fully customisable. It’s super futuristic and really useful for keeping all those features in your eyeline. We can’t wait to see it in the upcoming iX3 later this year.”
Double Triumph at the Professional Driver Car of the Year Awards
BMW’s excellence was further cemented at the 2025 Professional Driver Car of the Year awards, where two flagship models received prestigious category awards. The BMW i5 Touring clinched the Estate Car of the Year award, with Editor Mark Bursa lauding its blend of refined executive styling and dynamic driving pleasure. In addition, the all-electric BMW i7 emerged victorious as the top contender in the Chauffeur Car category, succeeding the previous year’s BMW M760e xDrive and solidifying BMW’s reputation for innovative, luxurious electric limousines.
BMW Group Shines at the Company Car & Van Awards
In a showcase of comprehensive product excellence, BMW Group was crowned Fleet Manufacturer of the Year at the 2025 Company Car & Van Awards. CC&V Editor Andrew Walker commended the group’s robust portfolio, which spans electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles from both BMW and MINI. With models such as the new electric Mini Cooper, Countryman, and Aceman, alongside refreshed versions of the BMW iX2, i5, i7, updated i4, iX3, and the plug-in 330e, BMW Group continues to lead the premium segment for company fleets.
